บท 48: Not A Joke

Gemma was both shocked and dumbfounded did she hear the doctor right? Did she just say that she is pregnant? How can that be? She is not supposed to be pregnant!

Miguel is the only man that she has been with, and he used a condom. She is not supposed to be pregnant. 

So many things were going through Gemma's head as she stared at the doctor who wouldn't stop smiling. Did she think this is funny? What sort of joke is this?

"I'm not pregnant. This is a joke right?" Gemma asked the doctor. 

The doctor slowly shook her head. "No. It's not. You are indeed pregnant" she took the test result and placed it in front of Gemma, her mother quickly grabbed it and as she read it, Gemma could see the disappointment on her face. 

When her mother raised her head to look at Gemma, her eyes were shiny with tears and her face filled with so much disappointment.
