บท 221: Professional Growth

Despite how amazing it was to have an entire day off, Varya was eager to get back to work. 

As usual, it was meetings after meetings for the two emperors. However, she was finally able to attend a meeting with Ebari and she was ecstatic. 

Lately, it felt like the two of them hadn't been able to spend as much time as they used to together. While she tried to nurture her relationship with Basileus, it felt like all of her time was occupied by that when she wasn't working. 

She hugged Ebari when she saw him and didn't want to let go. 

"What's all this about?" he asked with a small smile. "You're awfully affectionate." 

"I feel like we see each other a lot but we don't get to spend quality time like we used to. I just missed you," she said. "And Basileus told me how much work you put into my birthday party and I wanted to thank you. I'll have to come up with a way to repay you."
