As she held the phone to her ear, Jennet shifted her gaze towards the night sky. There was no moon but, the stars were scattered around. It was a moonless night just like how she had been feeling so worn out over the adversity that happened to her. She can't hide the skeletons inside the cupboard anymore. It was important for her to put her husband first and worry about the rest later.
Jennet exhaled softly and said, "I'm sorry for saying this but, I have been hiding the truth about myself from everyone else including you."
"So, are you going to..."
"Luca, I can't go out with you. I'm sorry. I mean, I'm not compatible with you and I hope you can cherish someone else who is compatible with you."
"Why are you saying this so suddenly? Have anyone caused you any trouble?" Luca knew how she had always been cautious around him. Somebody must have told her to back away from his life. But, he was not going to let her fight alone if that was the case.
