บท 9: "Friends"
Our sight-seeing around nearby parks and visit to the Hachiko Statue went unexpectedly great. It was so fun exploring Shiba Park, Elise and Justin surely had so much fun due to the fact that they took many pictures with the idol group, especially the youngest Jyuji who's mostly known as JJ and the brown-haired guy named Dongwu. I was then informed that they were the two's biases or their most favorite member, JJ was Elise's while Dongwu was Justin's. Meanwhile, our lovers are having their quality time taking pictures of each other and with each other. And then Louie's busy admiring the sights, taking as much video as possible.
The group weren't that bad either, they were engaging in conversation every now and then especially to the juniors who were their fans which the two excitedly entertained. My juniors were surprised to know that all of the members of Out4Blood knew English but they were instructed to 'pretend' that they don't aside from Kangwoo and their manager to 'preserve' their authenticity. The two had then vowed to not share the experience until the time it'll be revealed to the public. The two had also been promoted from fans to friends, the members gladly added the two to their personal SNS accounts and tagged them as 'friends'. Of course my juniors felt really on the top of the world right then and there, their happy faces were contagious.
Now aside from Kangwoo who's the leader of the group and Eiji their manager, I've got to know more about the other members. Park Jyuji A.K.A. JJ, not only the youngest but also the visual of the group, he's the friendliest among the five of them. Kang Dongwu, the main dancer, Justin had endlessly praised his dancing skills to the point that he inspired the kid to do dancing. Then there's Yoo Seongho, their vocalist; he's actually my sister's bias. She once told me that he can hit any notes be it high or low, fast or slow Seongho can sing it all. And finally, Bae Byumin A.K.A. Baby Face but don't be fooled by his nickname, he might look young but his rapping skills are insane; both in English and in Korean.
When we got to Ueno Park where we saw the amazing Moon Pine, I noticed a great view where all of my friends plus the idol group that can be taken in one frame; Vince and Ebony on the side being lovey-dovey while Eiji is helping Louie to get a great shot in the middle and then my juniors laughing and having fun with the idol group. Seeing the opportunity, I took out my camera and tried to take the photo… If only my hair would let me.
Why is the breeze here so strong? My hair kept on blocking my face, how can I possibly take the photo –
"[Here, let me help you…]" A familiar male voice said as he gently wrapped my hair up with his hands. Wait, is it him…? I slightly turned back to see who it was and my guess was right, it was Kangwoo. But how did he get behind me so fast? He was just right there a while ago. "[Hmm…? Go on, take your photo.]" I slightly blushed at his gesture; it was a small action but still.
His smiling gaze had me staring for a while but then I remembered that I had to take a photo. Luckily, when I look back, the scene didn't disappear and I was able to take the photo. I reviewed it with a smile on my face as small things like this always makes me happy.
"[Don't you want to be in the photo?]" Kangwoo suddenly asked out of the blue and with my eyes still in the picture, I blindly replied to him.
"[What? Oh no, I'm good… I don't really like to take pictures of myself…]" I had then paused for a moment, crap, did I just answer him in Korean…?
I then shyly looked at him and saw his amused face, "[Not only you can understand us, you also speak our language. You're really fascinating…]". I felt my face heating up again upon his compliment so I kind of hustled for a response.
"I – I don't know what you're talking about… Ca – Can you let my hair down, please…?"
He chuckled at me before releasing my hair though before I could say a thank you, he snatched my camera and then held me closer to him, "[Let's also take a photo.]". My face is really red now as he snapped a photo of us, with me so close to him.
"No, stop it!". I tried to grab my camera back from him but he's just so tall! Even with no effort, as he could just stand right there, I wouldn't be able to reach it. "Kangwoo, I said stop it!" He then took a couple of more shots in different angles before he handed my camera back to me and let me go.
He smirked at me while I glared at him, "[You said my name, well, I'll admit, it sounds good coming from your lips.]". What the…? Is he…? Is he flirting with me…? No, no that can't be, he's just toying with me.
"Hmph!" I then snubbed at him and walked away while he exclaimed, "Noona! [Send me a copy, please!]" Tsk, send you a copy…? Nope, how sure are you that I won't delete these photos?
Later in the afternoon, we decided to rest for a while before going back to our hotel. As some of us ordered something to eat, I was scanning some of the earlier photos that I took. I then came upon the first photo Kangwoo took when he snatched my camera. Gosh, we looked really close to each other! Nope, this won't do, I have to delete it.
All I needed was a second to delete it but then my finger froze. Do I really want to delete this…? Hmm… It's such a good and clear photo, it'll be a waste to just delete it, right…? Well, one picture won't hurt. I then decided to not delete it and see the other photos.
As I scroll around the photos he took, my face grew flustered. We're so close and his smile looks genuine. If ever these photos will be seen by strangers, they might think that we're a couple. Urgh! My mind must be going crazy! I need to stop. Kangwoo is a vampire for Pete's sake!
I wanted to stop looking at the photos but then the last photos he took surprised me. It was the scene that I wanted to take but we were included in it, it's like a candid groupie photo with all of us in just one frame. It brought a smile to my face; well, I guess it was nice of him to do that. But then I looked at the very last photo; it was the same scene but the others were looking at us. My yelling might've caught their attention and had to see why.
I clapped a hand over my mouth as I realized what it must look like from their perspective. Kangwoo and I, fooling around, his arm around my waist and him holding me so close to him. Oh god, why? Elise and Ebony's reactions were the most obvious shocked faces in the photo. This must be why the two were giggling at each other a while ago. I shyly glanced at Kangwoo as he was sitting across from me while talking to their manager. And for a brief moment, he noticed my stare and then smirked at me. Why, this vampire, did he take that photo on purpose…? Why is he doing this to me? I can't help but to glare at him right now.
"Hey, girlfriend…" Ebony had then said that took my attention to her.
"Yeah, what's up?" She and Elise then suspiciously surrounded me. "W – Why are you two looking at me like that?".
Ebony had then grinned at me then said, "Well, we're your girlfriends, right…? We just wanted to know if there's something you want to tell us…?".
"What are you guys –"
"Are you dating Choi Kangwoo?" Elise then asked in a low voice. WHAT!? That escalated quickly. My eyes grew big, this was the very thing I was afraid of.
"What!? No! We're –"
I was then cutoff as Justin rushed to us exclaiming, "Guys! I think we have a problem." What? What is it now?
Justin then showed us something on his phone and we're just… Oh no, this isn't good, not good at all. We looked over to the group across the table who were already looking at their manager's phone. A few seconds later, they looked in our direction, too.
Damn it, our vacation has just gone from bad to worse, not only that we're dealing with an idol group but now, their fans are also coming in the picture. What in the world did we get ourselves into?
