บท 10: You Don't Want to Help Me?

Not a single prince or princess was born from her womb. However, the woman who answers as the current queen is not to be underestimated. She was so strict that even the king was afraid of her.

"What did you say? You will live long and see little princes replacing this kingdom in the future!" Though he stammered a bit in surprise at the queen's current arrival, Prince Algis managed to answer calmly.

"What were you thinking, Algis? Going to the south just for a woman?" The queen, who was the mother of Prince Algis and Princess Adelelain, shook her head angrily. Her beautiful earrings swayed every time she moved.

"She's in danger, Mother!" Algis looked down.

In his heart, he made up his mind to go on, even though his mother would forbid it at any cost. It must be their father, the king, who had contacted this woman who secretly ruled the palace.

"Mother doesn't want to hear it! You will stay in the palace!" the woman shouted with anger in her voice.

"You understand better than I do! Because you love Father too, don't you?"

Algis dared to stare at his surrogate mother, looking for something to confirm his suspicions.

Algis heard his mother quietly clear her throat and then look away. "You should put your people before your personal feelings. Do you know what would happen to this country if something bad happened to you?"

He reached for the queen's hand, then took it warmly. "Nothing bad will happen to me, Mother. There are knights with me. You also know that I am not that weak."

The queen returned Algis's grasp, channeling her vain worries. She still hoped that Algis would think again and change his mind about going south. She finally gave up.

"The wind is cold in the south. Even this time of year. I hope you can take care of yourself."

Algis smiled. As he had told the queen before, he was not as weak as others thought. He just did not like to show himself too soon.

"I'll be fine, Mother."

"I want you to listen, but if your father can't, how can I?"

She lifted her chin and turned to leave. Her servant, waiting at the door, followed in front of them all.

Algis was sure that the queen would now see the king and report that her attempts to stop Algis had been unsuccessful.

"You can go now, Borneo!"

When the queen arrived, Borneo hurried to hide in the dressing room near the large mirror. Algis was afraid his servant would faint from holding his breath there.

"How can you be so afraid of the queen when you've done nothing wrong?" sneered Algis.

Borneo just looked down in shame. "Forgive me, Your Highness, the Crown Prince. I don't know why either!" But Prince Algis knew Borneo was lying.

In Borneo's hand were the clothes he had prepared earlier. Algis asked the servant for them and began to undress. Algis' body was smaller than the palace's special guard knights, but his sword skills were good. He reached the highest peak when he was 15 years old. From then on, the king asked him to hide his sword and magic skills. He didn't want Algis to be approached by parasites among the nobles.

"I couldn't believe I was 20 years old," Prince Algis saw his reflection in the glass.

Algis quickly turned around. Borneo was older than Algis, about 30 years old now. Borneo should have been married and had a family by now, but for some reason, he refused all the nobles' proposals.

"That's why you should get married, Borneo. I'm too big for you to take care of me like a child!" Borneo's face turned red.

"I may not be able to live up to the expectations of these noble maidens, Your Highness."

Were it not for the shabby letter informing him that Adriana was in danger, Prince Algis would have felt comfortable teasing Borneo. But now he had to hurry.

"Are the knights ready?" asked Algis.

"I sent a message, Prince! We will meet them at the knights' barracks!"

***

It has been less than seven days since Cyril became a knight here-although in the novel, Cyril has been an official knight for almost two months-but he has the task of picking up the female lead.

Why is the story moving so quickly? I haven't come up with an escape plan yet! Cyril's little heart cried out in disapproval. Had he been in his previous life, he would have stopped working long ago.

Prince Algis, the first son of the first queen, was on a horse held by a servant. His wavy blond hair, which touched the back of his neck, was shiny. Algis' eyes were blue. The horse he rode was white and of a rare breed.

The servant who held the horse to keep it quiet was called Borneo. He was the servant who caught Cyril trying to take Adriana away in the true story. Borneo died at Cyril's hands. He was later beheaded for a serious crime.

Cyril's head throbbed loudly. His life was as bad as it looked.

"The journey to the south takes ten days, but we'll cut it down to five!"

Cyril wondered what would happen to Adriana if they reached the south in the normal time. After all, Adriana would end up staying with Prince Algis anyway.

"Is something serious going on, Your Highness?" Cyril asked more to himself.

When he raised his head, Algis gave him an angry look, and the other knights did the same. Cyril was sure his voice wasn't too loud. His smile didn't explain everything.

"I'm not forcing you to follow this order. You can resign at any time!" Algis said coldly.

The fear in him immediately told Cyril to lower his head. But if he lowered his head now, he would only find greater humiliation. No, he would not. He would not bow like Cyril in the novel.

"Is it not allowed to think in front of His Majesty?"

From the looks on everyone's faces, it seemed as if Cyril had dug his own grave. However, if he was expelled at this time, it would be great. He could immediately escape his fate of death.

"Your Majesty!"

Cyril looked at the captain who had almost been knighted.

"He is a knight who comes from the commoners! Forgive his stupidity," the captain shouted as he bowed deeply.

What was he looking at now?

"He can stay and be punished as a dissident! Prepare to leave!" Prince Algis gave the order.

Cyril had to think hard about how to avoid the red flag. But for now, he could join the journey to the south, right?
