บท 88: CHAPTER 88
A strand of Yuhao's spiritual energy suddenly connected with a strand of Wang Quier's spiritual energy, surprising them greatly. But it didn't stop there as more strands of energy connected with each other, showcasing a shocking 100% compatibility between their spiritual and even their mental energy.
"What's going on?! You are not Dong'er… But why… our soul power…"
"Not only our soul power but our mental strength as well merged by a 100%!" Yuhao exclaimed in shock.
"Okay, since we can use spirit fusion… We can win!"
Houryu just appeared on the tree branch, and the energies matching and merging that he sensed earlier were clearer now, "What in the hell!" Houryu's mouth hung open in surprise.
'How in the hell does he even have a spirit fusion with Wang Quier as well.'
'I really need to find out the cause of these annoying emotions I keep on feeling, so I can stay the fuck away from all of this protagonist drama… this kind of chaos is bad for my health.' Houryu thought as he watched the ongoing battle, his right hand on his chest as he felt his heart beating even more irregularly ever since he sensed Wang Quier's spiritual fusion with Yuhao.
Yuhao and Wang Quier were still in battle with the dark spirit master and Yuhao had just hit him with an extremely powerful mental attack but were now left exposed to the scarlet souls that the dark spirit master had released before he got hit.
A blinding light of violet gold suddenly shone out and scattered the scarlet souls as Yuhao's third eye (eye of destiny) opened on his forehead. The light managed to scatter the scarlet souls before they could reach Yuhao and Wang Quier, but they were now coming back to attack again.
Yuhao ignored his exhaustion and began reciting something weird in a strange language, causing spirit runes to appear and begin floating around them. After a few more seconds, Yuhao finished his recitation and quickly activated the spirit runes, causing an even brighter gold-violet light to illuminate the surroundings, purifying the scarlet souls and damaging the dark spirit master.
The dark spirit master fell to his knees while coughing blood, because of the heavy damage his martial soul had received from the baptism of light.
"Just who are you really?"
"You… You're also an evil soul master? Unless… are you the saint from those legends?" He asked while barely managing to keep himself upright with his staff.
"I'm not one of you evil soul masters, I've been sent from heaven to take out trash like you," Houryu replied, putting on a strong front, while in reality, he was already fainting from the exhaustion and only Wang Quier's hand that he was holding onto managed to keep upright.
Wang Quier was worried about his condition and their situation and wondered if he'd be able to hold on to his consciousness, when suddenly Yuhao started to shine and then begin to turn to spiritual energy, literally, before going ahead to merge with Wang Quier as they completed their martial fusion and began to display a fusion skill that required them to merge with each other, literally.
At this point, Houryu who was watching this scene almost snapped and he quickly turned away and began moving in another direction away from the fight. He was not a fool, and at this point had already figured out that somehow, he had feelings for Wang Quier and these feelings were threatening to take over his emotions.
Watching them fuse spiritually was the last straw for him and he would have snapped if he didn't gather the last of his willpower and quickly left before being forced to see and feel more things.
He understood what love and possessiveness were, he also understood jealousy and understood that he was feeling all that right now after watching Yuhao fuse with Wang Quier… what he didn't understand was, why in the hell did he feel all that for someone he met just barely hours ago, not to mention that she tried to kill him, sure she couldn't, but she tried to.
"Could it be what they call, love at first sight?" He asked himself as he stoped on a sturdy tree branch, a bit away from where the battle was happening.
"Yeah right… love at first sight my ass." Houryu sighed and sat on the branch while deactivating his Sharingan and reverting his vision and senses back to a normal person's.
"What in heaven's mercy is happening to me… Do I even want this,"
"Or do I want it subconsciously and my body is just reacting appropriately… or is it just another of the weird perks that come with being a mythical beast… or two of them." Houryu thought with his face in his palms as he sat on the branch.
Houryu sat on the branch in silence with nothing, but the sounds of leaves rustling interrupted his silence. After a few minutes of silence, he brought his face out of his hands with a decisive look on his face.
'Whatever is causing me to feel all this right now doesn't matter… I'm not ready for this emotional turmoil again… I don't think I'll ever be ready…'
'... I need to get away from her before I begin to feel something even more, I can't fall anymore deeper than this… I just can't.' Houryu thought as he stood up and activated his Sharingan.
'But first… I need to find Sylvia,'
'Somehow, I lost their location during all of the chaos… tch… and I still can't use my spirit sense.'
'How can I even find her in this huge forest,' Houryu thought as he looked around him with his Sharingan stretched to the best of its capabilities, but apart from Wang Quier carrying away Yuhao like a log of wood, there was no other living human in the vicinity.
'Yuhao would probably end up joining his group again, so the only sensible option I have right now is to stay around him, find Sylvia, and get the hell away from here.' Houryu decided and quickly began to move as he didn't want to waste any more time.
"So, stay around Yuhao, find Sylvia and get the hell out of here, all the while avoiding any more emotional entanglements… should be simple right?" Houryu said to himself, to try to motivate himself.
