บท 479: Trelawney's New Prophecy

บรรณาธิการ: Atlas Studios

"But…you're not…" Hermione looked at Ivan in surprise and tried to retort, but her sharp tongue seemed to have failed her today, and she began to stammer, eventually breaking into a low murmur.

Yvonne couldn't hear what she was saying, but she didn't seem to care.

Harry seemed to have thought of something and hesitated before speaking. "Do you think Professor Trelawney is acting strangely today…"

"What's the matter? Isn't that old hag supposed to talk nonsense every day?" Ron scoffed.

Over the course of the school year, Ron considered himself to have figured out that the Professor of Divination was a fraud who played the fool.

I wonder why Professor Dumbledore sent her to this school…

"No, it seems different today!" Harry said, shaking his head.

Ivan, who had been turning the pages of the book, stopped, closed the book and asked Harry sternly, "Has Professor Trelawney made any new predictions?"

"How do you know it was a prophecy?" Harry was baffled.

Before Yvonne could explain, Hermione said, "Because Professor Trelawney once prophesied to us…"

"That prophecy about hell… the killings?" Ron laughed, having been so shocked by the prophecy that nothing had happened.

Harry remembered this too and laughed along with her…

"Yes! The prophecy…it's come true!" Hermione said solemnly, frowning at the unconcerned pair.

"It's…it's happening?!" Ron was so shocked that he dropped the books he was clutching.

"When and how? Why didn't we know?" Harry was baffled. Unlike Ron, he clearly remembered Professor Trelawney's prophecy.

[You… killed! Blood… hell!]

If such a prophecy were to come true, it would be absolutely terrifying!

However, as Ivan and Hermione spent every day of the school year at the castle, and often met up with them, Harry could not imagine how the prophecy had been confirmed.

"Well, it did. Why are you asking so many questions?" Hermione glared at them, and then the little witch gave Ivan an off-centre look that softened as she recalled her experience.

Under Hermione's furious glare, Harry and Ron were able to keep their questions to themselves.

"What exactly did Professor Trelawney tell you?" Ivan asked, changing the subject.

Harry hesitated for a moment before answering truthfully.

During his Divination class, he accidentally left his book in the classroom and ran into Professor Trelawney, who was looking at a crystal ball.

"She was acting strange, like an empty shell without a soul…" Harry shuddered at the memory, trying to recapture the feeling of meeting her.

"When I came in, Professor Trelawney found me, and she said to me: the darkness is closing in, there is a great shadow over the sky, and the servants of the Dark Lord will be freed… and the wizarding world is about to change…"

Harry paused when he heard Professor Trelawney mention Death or something like that… but it was vague and he didn't hear everything…

Ron shuddered at the prophecy's contents.

"Do you think the Dark Lord's servant could be Peter Pettigrew?" Harry asked, after much hesitation.

"But isn't Peter Pettigrew in Azkaban? I don't think he's getting out, is he?" Ron asked, hoping for the best.

He did not want the fable to be true at all…

"That's why it's called getting out, isn't it?" Hermione burst Ron's bubble. "He's an Animagus! Sirius said the Dementor guarding Azkaban wasn't interested in animals, and Sirius escaped in the form of a black dog!"

"No! Peter won't get out so easily. The Ministry knows full well that he's an Animagus, and they'll want to rein him in. Otherwise, if anything goes wrong, public opinion will drown Fudge! They have no reason to be negligent…" Ivan frowned deeply and retorted.

A large number of wizards were already angry at the Ministry for their mistake in capturing Sirius.

If Peter Pettigrew managed to escape this time, Minister Fudge would probably be forced out of office…

"Right, I told you he wouldn't get away with it!" Ron was pleased to see that Yvonne was supporting his statement.

However, to his surprise, Ivan quickly changed his tone and continued, "But it might be different if someone helped him!"

Ivan deftly pocketed the books on his desk and called out to Harry and the others.

"Without further ado, let's go and inform Professor Dumbledore!"

Harry, Ron, and Hermione all realised the gravity of the situation and pushed their revision aside, hurrying to the Headmaster's office.

"By the way, does anyone remember the date of Peter's sentence?"

As they ran down the corridor, Ivan suddenly thought of something.

"I think it's today!" Hermione said with great conviction, having calculated the time.

Ivan made the connection and urged them to run faster.

Half an hour ago, on an island in the North Sea.

As usual, Mrs Peter used her walking stick to visit her children, but was stopped by two Aurors.

"As usual, please surrender your wand, Mrs. Peter!"

"I don't have a wand, gentlemen, it's just my walking stick… Please, do me a favour and forgive this old woman for having trouble walking! The last few times I was here, none of the gentlemen guarding this place took my walking stick. I just want to see my children one last time!"

Madam Peter spoke sadly, and from time to time, a few tears would fall from her eyes.

Keeping in mind their duties and duties, the two Aurors were somewhat hesitant, but seeing that Madam Peter had given them several golden Galleons, they were deeply moved and put her inside.

How could they bear to refuse the request of a poor mother?

One Auror, of course, chose to stick close to her, just in case.

Madam Peter nodded and walked calmly through Azkaban's prison, showing no signs of distress.

It was very run-down and dark. The iron doors of the cells were rusty, and from time to time, there would be cries, trembling screams, and curses…
