บท 86: What's Wrong With Having Horns? They're Still Horses!

Ivan was somewhat surprised by Dumbledore's display of power, but after a moment of surprise, he simply explained how his second burst of magic had caused him to go into a state of near-universal magic, causing his powers to soar.

This increase in strength was an important factor in keeping Voldemort in check.

Ivan hesitated to tell her that he had fused with unicorn blood.

This was not something that could not be said at all.

After all, he was the one who found The Origin of Blood in the Restricted Section, and the missing parts could be explained by the fact that there were similar books in the house that could be used to complete the book, although there was a chance that Dumbledore would see through it.

Ivan felt that the worst thing he could do was steal Snape's potion and sneak into the Restricted Section to read…

With all the accomplishments he has made this term, Dumbledore is unlikely to do anything to him other than increase guidance and covert surveillance…

The only things that must never be said are the secrets of transmigration and the system that carries it around with you…

As Ivan hesitated, Dumbledore spoke up, having heard his story.

"This could be a blood awakening…"

"Bloodline awakening? What's that?" This was the second time Ivan had heard the term, and he recalled Voldemort mentioning it to him during their battle.

His copy of The Bloodline Origin did not contain much information on this subject, and he wondered if it was in the missing section.

"The House of Hales…" Dumbledore did not immediately respond to Ivan's question, instead remaining lost in thought.

He knew a thing or two about Ivan's family, the Hales, and they did not seem to have any special blood ties.

Of course, there was also the possibility that Ivan's mother, Isia, had inherited the blood, so he didn't know much about the situation there.

Dumbledore considered this for a moment before answering Ivan's question.

Simply put, an ancestor used various methods to fuse with the blood of magical creatures, stealing their powers and passing them down through the generations.

This power diminishes over time, so that generations later, the offspring are no different from ordinary wizards.

However, there would always be a small number of these children who were exceptionally talented. However, when their strength reached a certain level, or when they were provoked by chance, they would be able to stimulate the hidden power in their bodies.

The best of them were able to infuse the power of magical creatures into their magic with ease, displaying incredible abilities.

Ivan nodded, which was similar to what he had guessed from the book, although Dumbledore had said more.

"Is your family like this, then?" Ivan asked, pretending to be curious as he recalled the contents of The Bloodline Origin.

Ivan remembers that it seems that not everyone in the Dumbledore family could summon a phoenix, and that the only people who could were the Headmaster and Credence Bairdburn (Aurilius Dumbledore).

Dumbledore fell silent again, his blue eyes looking at Ivan as if he were someone else.

He seemed to have travelled back decades,

"What's wrong, sir?" Yvonne asked curiously.

"Nothing, except that I was asked the same question many years ago…" said Dumbledore after a long pause.

Ivan had a vague idea who it was, and was annoyed with himself for asking something he shouldn't have, but Dumbledore suddenly laughed.

"I'm glad you're not like him. You have something he doesn't…"

Ivan is relieved to see that he did not go to all that trouble to clean up the mess, and that Dumbledore still has feelings for him.

"Headmaster Dumbledore, the Ministry is looking for you. They insist on waiting for you in front of the Headmaster's office." As the tension began to ease, Madam Pomfrey opened the door and entered, glancing at Ivan as she did so.

"Also, I think it's time for Hales to get some rest."

Dumbledore nodded. The Ministry of Magic was still slow to react. He had reported Quirrell's execution two days ago, and they had not sent anyone to deal with it until now.

This was a far cry from the investigation of the dragons, and if Fudge and his Ministry of Magic had been able to put their competitive spirit into proper business, the wizarding world would not be in such a mess…

As he needed to leave at the last minute, Dumbledore did not pursue the matter, as Ivan's answers were sufficient to dispel most of his doubts, leaving him with a few guesses.

After advising Ivan to get some rest, Dumbledore stood up and left the room.

Ivan, who had been terrified, finally breathed a sigh of relief. He glanced at the timer on his experience card and saw that there were only a few minutes left.

Ivan estimated that Dumbledore's Dementor was at least Level 6, and his Occlumency was only at Level 3, so Ivan was not sure he would be able to hide it from Dumbledore if he lost the support and protection of the Experiencing Card.

And that's without Dumbledore going all out…

At the same time, in the corridor outside the hospital wing, Dumbledore ran into Harry and the others, who were visiting Ivan after class.

"Professor, is Ivan awake?" Hermione asked when she saw Dumbledore.

Harry and Ron looked over at the same time.

"Well, he seems to be in pretty good shape, but as Hulse has only just woken up, I'm guessing you'll have to convince Madam Pomfrey to let you in." Dumbledore smiled.

Dumbledore then seemed to think of something and looked at Harry.

"Harry, you said that during the battle, Hales cast an illusory shadow. Can you tell us what that shadow looked like?"

Harry tried to remember, but he was lying on the ground, so he could only see an outline.

"It…it looked like a horse, Professor!" Harry said uncertainly.

Horses?

Could it be a Kelpie?

Wondering what kind of horse it was, Dumbledore headed for the Headmaster's office.

As he watched Dumbledore disappear down the corridor, Harry remembered that he had vaguely seen a horn on the head of the horse-shaped apparition.

Harry hesitated and shook his head. Perhaps he was mistaken…
