I slowly cover my chest as I glare at the man who looks entirely too comfortable in a bathroom with a naked woman and ask, "How?" His dark eyes watch me closely as he slightly frowns and says, "I just give them to you. Say the word and they're yours. It's not hard."
I give him a dry look and say "No, how did you find me here?" His frown disappears as he leans against the wall and says, "I think it'd be more concerning if I couldn't find you. Everyone seems to be talking about you little witch. You seem to leave quite the impression with those you meet. You've left a rather large trail."
He pushes off the wall and grabs a stool. He places it next to the tub and then sits on it. He slowly leans in closer as he says, "You seem to be quite the little monster." I open my mouth to tell him to back off when he cuts me off by saying, "I like it. I'm only disappointed I missed it."
My dry look is back as I purse my lips and say in an equally dry tone, "I'm only a monster to monsters." He arches a dark brow and says, "So I just need to find one to see you in action?" I glare up at him as I mumble "You don't have to look far..."
He frowns at my words before suddenly pointing to himself. I roll my eyes and snap "Is this a normal thing for you? Barging into a bathroom while a woman is trying to bathe?" He blinks before looking at my exposed shoulders and collarbone.
His dark eyes deepen before slowly looking back to my eyes and saying "No, this is a first. I never cared to know what a woman looked like bathing until now." I blink, taken back once again. Was he just messing with me or was he telling the truth? Either way, he...
I scoff and say, "I don't understand your specific kind of crazy, but I do admire your total commitment to it. I'm going to have to ask you to leave." He blinks, finally lost for words before saying, "But I came to wash your hair."
My mouth slightly falls open as I look at him in complete and utter shock. My eyes stare into his dark ones as I whisper, "You're a psychopath." He gives me a smile that looks absolutely sinful before leaning in and whispering, "I prefer creative."
I scoff before giggling. The giggle then turns into a full-blown laugh as I struggle to breathe. He's insane and absolutely off his rocker but I can't seem to hate him for it. It's refreshing to meet someone so unapologetically honest. When I can finally breathe again, I wipe my tears and look up to find him staring at me with a small smile pulling at his beautiful lips.
It's true, the man was sinfully attractive, but my grandfather always told me that the most colorful insects were also the most venomous. When I look at this man, I can't help but agree with him. He's dangerous and could very well be my ending but who knows for sure, right?
I feel as if a large deadly bear befriended me, and I had no way of running it off. Maybe if I amuse him, he'll grow bored and move on.
He watches me intently as he says, "I've decided. You look much better when laughing." What he didn't say out loud was how much it affected him. He'd heard countless women laugh and while some were obnoxious and fake, none of them made his heart race like this.
Watching her laugh was both a gift but also torture. It filled him with emotions he had never felt before but at the same time, it made him ache. He fights the urge to rub his chest as he watches her chuckle again. He wants to hear it again, that tinkling sound that brought life to his cold soul. It was like taking a breath of fresh air after being in a dusty room for all his life.
It was over too quickly.
I use my magic to add rose petals to the top of the water so I could hide and lean back before asking, "Why are you really here? What is it you want." Suddenly the man's eyes darken and take on a dangerous look before looking away.
He reaches down and picks up the bar of soap before saying, "I've told you; I've come to wash your hair." I give him a dry look at say, "Thanks, but I don't like being touched." He mocks, acting hurt as he says, "But you let the others touch you."
I scoff and say, "That's different! I wasn't naked and all she did was give me a hug." He blinks before saying, "So you'd let me hug you if you were dressed?" I nearly choke on my own spit as I look up in disbelief. How had he managed to twist this around and ask for a hug like it was only the right thing to do!?
We stare at each other for several silent moments before I say, "Fine, but you have to leave so that I can..." He cuts me off as he tosses the soap away and says "Deal. I'll wait outside." I grit my teeth and watch as he silently slips out of the room like the Grim reaper.
How!? How is he always getting the upper hand!? I take a deep breath and dip under water, allowing my magic to wash me as I struggle to rein in my annoyance. He's exactly like a bear! It's like the ones that crawl into your vehicle, and you can only watch on in despair. Waiting for them to be done so you can clean up the mess after.
If you try to stop them, they'll eat you!! Well, maybe not me but you know what I mean! I sit up and take a deep breath before standing up. This time I use my magic to help dry me a bit before slipping on the robe.
I ring my hair out and sigh with irritation for the umpteen time tonight. As I step through the door, I look up to find him standing in the middle of the room looking completely out of place.
His dark black robes seem to suck all the light out of the small room. The room didn't seem large enough for him but yet seemed more than enough when Li Jie and I were in here the other night. When he sees me, he arches a dark brow and opens his arms with a dark smirk.
