Therefore, they knew that he was obviously their Akiba, but still they could not meet.

From what they found out, he was busy looking for a space magic master. It seems that in the last few days they got "lucky" and an elderly mage with a bit of knowledge in space magic was a bit interested. 

Actually this was not entirely coincidental, it was Madame Brailims who spoke to this wizard for Akiba. It seems that after some time of confusion over her new memories, she felt a bit bad about rejecting Akiba, who she liked since he was kind to her and the children in the suburbs.
