บท 15: Why do you know so well?!
"The Grand Line map, huh…"
Link thought for a moment. He remembered that the map was taken by Buggy.
That future Buggy the Clown, known as the "Man of a Thousand Lies."
The group eagerly entered the room, first retrieving Zoro's three swords, then searching Morgan's office until they found a safe containing the map.
But when they opened the safe, they found, unsurprisingly, a picture of Buggy's skull with the words "Map claimed by me!"
"Did Buggy really take the map? That guy, the one with the nickname 'Undying Buggy'?"
Nami clearly knew this name. Buggy was a notorious pirate in the East Blue.
"Undying Buggy? I think I've heard that name before," Zoro, a bounty hunter, rubbed his chin. "Isn't his bounty over ten million?"
A pirate with a bounty in the tens of millions…
Nami swallowed hard. She didn't want to provoke him, but the thought of her childhood dreams and her thirst for adventure in the legendary Grand Line tugged at her heart.
She gritted her teeth, feeling a decision building inside her.
"Buggy, huh? Just like Luffy, he's a Devil Fruit user," Link added.
"A Devil Fruit user? Is that why he's called undying?"
Nami was surprised and quickly asked, "Do you know what his powers are?"
After asking, she seemed to realize she was being too eager, shaking her head and laughing at herself:
"Of course not! Those are Devil Fruit powers; how could anyone just know…"
"I know."
"Really? I knew it was impossible… What did you just say?!"
Nami stared at him, wide-eyed.
"I know," Link replied casually, nodding.
"That guy ate the Chop-Chop Fruit, which lets him split his body apart and reassemble it at will. That's why slashes don't affect him, and that's why he's called undying."
"I can't believe you really know…"
Nami looked at him in shock. "How do you know so much?!"
"Isn't it normal?"
Link pretended to be surprised. "Those Devil Fruit users love to brag about their powers in battles. They worry you won't know and explain their abilities in detail."
"With that back-and-forth, I naturally picked it up."
Nami replied, "How could there be someone so foolish?!"
Link chuckled at Nami's disbelief.
She was still young and naive, wasn't she? On the Grand Line, this kind of thing happened all the time.
Most of the opponents Luffy encountered would spill their secrets and abilities without hesitation.
Even if they didn't, their minions would be sure to report everything, fearing their boss's abilities wouldn't be known!
"So slashes won't work, huh?"
Zoro thought deeply about this.
"Then let's try using the back of the blade!"
Luffy continued swinging his arms carelessly.
"So the map is in that Buggy's hands, huh? Alright, we've decided; our next destination is there!"
Once the captain confirmed their goal, it was time to act.
The group first enjoyed a delicious meal at a restaurant, then Link used the savings he had gotten from the ship to buy plenty of food supplies.
He remembered that in the original story, Luffy and Zoro, one directionally challenged and the other clueless, nearly starved on their way to find Buggy.
If it hadn't been for a giant fish trying to eat Zoro, which he killed and turned into sashimi, the two might have just starved on the ship!
Coby decided to stay behind, aiming to use this Navy base as a new starting point in his life.
Nami was eager to snag some good things from Link and hoped to get the map and other benefits.
After a quick introduction, the four of them set sail again, greeted by many grateful Navy soldiers who thanked them for freeing the town.
They came as four and left as four, but this time, they were true companions.
They also upgraded to a slightly bigger passenger ship because they had been sailing for a long time.
Though it couldn't compare to regular pirate or merchant ships, it was more than enough for four or five people to sleep and had basic amenities.
With that, the group headed towards their next destination, Orange Island, where Buggy the Clown was located!

Sailing on the sea was undeniably dull.
Before them stretched an endless expanse of ocean, empty and lonely. With Luffy's restless nature, he could only bear it for the first two days.
But by the third day, Luffy couldn't help but stare at the big birds flying overhead, dreaming of catching a few to roast and eat.
Well, he didn't even think about how he would start a fire on the ocean!
Fortunately, with Link nearby to keep him in check, Luffy's wild ideas didn't get too far.
Before long, they spotted the faint outline of a city and islands in the distance, signaling the end of their three-day journey.
And there, at the dock, was a pirate ship proudly displaying the Buggy Pirate flag!
