When Ruby was little, she and Oscar had read a fairy tale book about a relic that was said could help werewolves awaken their abilities. The relic could also unlock the potential of werewolves so that they could transform into their werewolves' form.

The relic came from red moonlight that only comes once in a thousand years. Hence, the relic was also known as the Bloodmoon Stone.

Fairy tales mentioned that many races fought over the relic because its ability could also be used by humans and lycans. Ruby used to think it was just a fairy tale that wasn't real or a figment of the imagination of werewolves who had trouble transforming like her.
