บท 251: Combating the Sea 3

The creatures had round, chubby faces with oversized eyes and fat lips. A large, spiny fin ran down their backs, with smaller ones running down their limbs. A viscous slime mixed with the water running down their bodies and coalesced on the barrier platform beneath the party's feet, making it slick and slippery. In each creature's hand rested a trident, dangerously sharp, and crackling with electricity.

"Fishbacks..."

There were a hundred or so pairs of eyes staring them down, and rising. And each one growled a shrill croak that called the others to action.

Rune and the girls were not worried. He and Luna had fought this type of monster once before. It was on their ship ride to Oto. Aside from attacking in numbers, there wasn't any notable danger that the beasts posed...Or so he thought.

"It's just like that time, Luna. They have numbers but nothing else. Let's clean this up."

"You don't have to tell me," Luna replied.
