An awkward moment played out as I got in line with the other passengers to pass through the barrier checkpoint. I received some funny looks from the two girls, and Luna grabbed me by my cloak and pulled me along. Oh yeah, I guess we don't need to wait in line when we have the country's princess with us. It always slips my mind that Luna is a genuine princess. She's got the bossy attitude down, but her love for fighting and adventuring isn't exactly what you would expect from a noble maiden.
As we walked up to the checkpoint, the two guards didn't even bother turning our way as they helped people through the line.
"No unauthorized personnel will be allowed entry without going through the proper procedures. You can wait in line like everybody else."
This was something I had been planning to go more into detail on since the start of the novel. The idea of fusing different time periods and cultures together just seemed really cool. We already saw a little bit of this in Veronica with its medieval buildings and modern appliances.
You can expect to see each country being influenced by the Ancients in a different way.
