บท 544: SWORD'S Killing Move, White Vision
Agatha uncovered the secrets of Wanda's magic and also revealed Wanda's identity as the Scarlet Witch, wielder of Chaos Magic!
Chaos Magic, unlike other magics, distinct from the likes of Agatha, the Sorcerer Supreme, or the magic of Asgard, doesn't require incantations or rituals. It can be cast anytime, anywhere, and possesses the powerful ability to alter reality. Those who wield Chaos Magic are known as the Scarlet Witch.
In the video, Wanda is somewhat shocked. As a novice in magic, this is the first time she learns about the mystery of her own powers, naturally feeling a mix of belief and skepticism.
Outside the video, the audience, thanks to Agatha's explanation, understands the significance of the Scarlet Witch. Initially, they thought the Scarlet Witch was a common title, like Superman, Iron Man, or Captain America, superhero names derived from their respective characteristics. It turns out, the title of the Scarlet Witch wasn't self-assigned by Wanda but holds profound significance.
In the Eternal Space, Erik is surprised: "Magic? She's not a mutant?" He then looks at the muscular Logan, curiously asking, "Have you heard of the Scarlet Witch?"
"No," Logan shakes his head. In his worldview, he has not encountered the mysterious realm of magic. Before seeing these videos, he, like Erik, believed Wanda was a special kind of mutant.
Wanda, just like her on-screen counterpart, looks astonished. She summons her scarlet magical power, murmuring, "Chaos Magic?"
Peter scratches his head, amazed, "I didn't expect magic to be real. But I still think the witch's words are not to be trusted. Look, if Chaos Magic is as powerful as she claims, why would she dare to come out of her trap to fight you, Miss Wanda?"
Agatha embodies the classic image of an evil witch in people's minds: cunning, sinister, and unscrupulous in achieving her plots and schemes, all the while mastering various mysterious magics.
Hearing Peter's remarks, Wanda also feels that Agatha's behavior is questionable. Previously, she had set traps in the basement that prevented the use of any magic, yet now she had deliberately lured her outside. There must be some sinister plan behind this!
Elsewhere, at the headquarters of the Multiverse Defenders, Batman, Captain America, Iron Man, Quicksilver, and others curiously inquire Doctor Strange about Chaos Magic. Stephen speaks gravely, "The legend that Witch Agatha mentioned, I've heard of it too. I can't say it's 100% accurate, but Chaos Magic is indeed dangerous!"
He had once won a mysterious prize in a quiz game and had exchanged insights with Sorcerer Supremes from various parallel universes. It was from them that Stephen learned about many secrets of magic, including Chaos Magic and the Scarlet Witch, originating from a magical book called the "Darkhold."
As Stephen shares some knowledge about Chaos Magic, the video on the screen shifts to show the bustling temporary base of the SWORD outside the energy barrier, preparing for their final action plan.
Then, the audience realizes, Wanda's enemies are not just Agatha but also the SWORD Bureau outside. Of course, compared to the mysterious and cunning Witch, the SWORD's previous actions were embarrassingly ineffective, constantly outmaneuvered by Wanda. What confidence or right do they have to challenge Wanda?
The answer is soon revealed when Tyler Hayward enters a tent, reflectively stating, "We've disassembled and reassembled this thing thousands of times, tried every known form of energy, but all we really needed was to borrow a little energy from the source..."
Inside the tent is a makeshift laboratory. The previously disassembled and scattered Vision is now fully assembled and painted white, presumably to distinguish it from the original Vision.
White Vision stands quietly in a glass case, beside another case containing a drone, which is covered with a layer of scarlet energy.
At this point, the audience fully understands Tyler Hayward's plan. His scheming is no less significant than Witch Agatha's. From initially guiding Wanda to see the remains of Vision at the SWORD to secretly monitoring Westview's illusion, every action, seemingly foolish, was part of a meticulous plan.
His true goal is to reboot Vision, completely transforming him into the weapon he needs.
He must obtain Wanda's magic.
Initially, Tyler hinted obliquely at Wanda to 'resurrect' her love, but he didn't expect Wanda to refrain from doing so. Thus, he opportunistically used a drone that had stealthily infiltrated Westview's illusion and was subsequently shot down and thrown out by Wanda, to obtain what he desired!
Now, it's clearly time to reap the benefits. Tyler Hayward nods in approval, and the researchers begin the final phase, infusing the drone's residual energy into the White Vision's body.
The experiment is a success; White Vision slowly opens his eyes, but he is no longer the Vision we know. Instead, he has become a cold weapon utilized by S.W.O.R.D.!
At this, Tony couldn't help but sneer repeatedly: "Just wait for the show. I guarantee that S.W.O.R.D.'s plan will ultimately fail."
According to the timeline provided in the video, the lessons from Ultron are still fresh. S.W.O.R.D.'s current development plan for White Vision might even involve referencing some of Ultron's archived files, showing they've learned nothing.
However, this puts Wanda in a very difficult situation, facing the dual threats of the witch Agatha and White Vision. In the illusion of Westview, Wanda is still unaware of White Vision's existence. Her immediate priority is to rescue her two children from the witch Agatha.
With the freedom to use her magic, she doesn't hesitate to unleash a stream of crimson energy, directly blasting the levitating Agatha out of the sky.
In her urgency, Wanda shows no mercy to this evil witch. Normally, if Agatha were to take such a magical strike head-on without avoiding it, she would be either dead or severely injured. However, she quickly rises from the ground, completely unharmed!
