"Sup, little boy. Glad you came." One of Akane's classmate, Nakamichi, greeted the kid as soon as he entered.
"Thanks for having me, big bros, big sis'." The kid bowed to them, while Ran was smiling wryly behind him.
"Sorry about this, everyone. To Yanagi as well. This was suppose to be a party for you but…" Ran apologizes, watching Conan get surrounded by their classmates.
"Nah, it's fine, really." Akane replied, calming her down.
"Thank you, Yanagi. Ah, Conan! Come here and greet Yanagi. This is his house, and he's the one who invited you, you know?" Ran called out Conan, who immediately went to her call.
"Hi, it's nice to meet you. I'm Edogawa Conan." Conan introduced himself, but he felt slightly concerned since Ran and the transfer student are standing close to each other.
"Well met, kid. I'm Yanagi Akane." Akane replied as he messed with Conan's head. "There's pizza and sodas at the table, and your elder brothers and sisters said you can eat all you want."
Playing the I'm-a-kid part, begrudgingly, Conan went to take a slice.
"Yay! Pizza!" Conan shouted as he ran towards where the foods are.
The others followed suit, as they once more started eating, as well as resumed their conversation.
"So, kid. What do you want to be in the future?" Akane asked Conan, thinking of ways to prank him.
"I want to be a detective!" The kid answered with the conviction of two, as Edogawa Conan and as Kudo Shinichi.
"Huh, you're still young, and you already plan to be a stalker and a snoop?" Akane asked visibly confused, at least on the surface.
When Sonoko heard him, she laughed out loud that everyone looked at her.
"Eh, what's up?"
"What're you talking about?"
She gathered everyone's attention while she was still laughing non-stop, so Ran has to explain for her, smiling wryly at the implications as her father is also a detective, but the part about the stalker she cannot contradict considering her father's actions sometimes, nay, most of the times towards women.
"Hey, Yanagi, that's not nice, especially to Ran here, who has a boyfriend and a father for a detective." One of their classmate said.
"I know, but I want to make sure that this kid knows what being a detective means for the wider public, you know? My motto is to receive the bad news first before the good one." Akane explain, but he was laughing underneath as he saw Conan in shock.
"And so, why do you want to be a detective, anyway?" Akane nudged Conan.
"Huh? Ah, well… I want to catch the bad guys and reveal their crime, because there's always only one truth." Conan said with conviction in his eyes, not knowing why he felt hostile towards the new guy aside from him being incredibly handsome and sitting next to Ran.
"Well, I guess that's a good reason to be one. Well, as your elder, I can only give you this advice, something I learned especially the hard way." Akane said, sounding a little more serious at the end. "Bravery and recklessness is separated by a fine, thin line. It's easy to forget the boundaries between the two once you've found yourself in certain situations. While you're still young, it's best for you to understand this sooner rather than later."
~
The party didn't continue for too long, as the others lived far away, ending the party just before it hits 8 P.M. and everyone started cleaning.
"Huh, so it was Kudo who brought the kid to the dark side." Akane said as he was washing the dishes with Ran and Sonoko.
"That's right, that detective maniac did. He could just play detective on his own, he just had to involve others, and a brat no less." Sonoko replied as she was glaring at Conan who was helping clean the table, who was also sneakily taking glances at them, especially towards Akane and Ran.
"Well, Shinichi did always wanted to be a detective. And Conan has always been helpful during investigations, so I don't think it's that bad." Ran said while her mind wandered to the memory of every cases they got involved in, as well as the face of someone who she hasn't seen for a long time.
Akane noticed the expression of longing on her face, and he didn't let it slide.
"You must be worried sick about him, not showing up for so long. Your husband, that is." Akane said smirkig, surprising Ran who was found out and Sonoko who started teasing her.
"Ahh~, when will you come back, Shinichi? Ahh~, I miss you!" Sonoko said in as if she was in a play, which caused another round of embarrassment for Ran.
"You two, stop making fun of me!" Ran complained, but was only met with laughter.
When Conan saw them, he went over and asked what they were talking about.
"Ran(neechan), Sonoko(neechan), Akane(niichan), what were you talking about?" Conan asked, acting meek and curious.
"Nothing a brat should know about." Sonoko replied to him.
"Now, now. Don't be mean to him. You see, Conan. We're talking about how a man shouldn't left a woman behind to worry for him." Akane explained, teasing the person behind the persona of Conan.
"And you're really always worrying about him, you know?" Sonoko pointed at her friend. "Why don't you ditched him already and find a new man? Yanagi here is a good option as well?"
"Huh?!" Conan reacted.
"What's it to you, brat? You're gonna report to your beloved big brother about his wife finding a new man because he left her?" Sonoko said, glaring at Conan.
"Okay, enough, Suzuki. Mouri is about to explode." Akane said, stopping Sonoko because he saw Ran trembling slightly.
"Ah, well, sorry about that, Ran. Shinichi just irritates me, you know? Disappearing just like that." Sonoko said, feeling bad for her earlier remarks.
"It's fine, Sonoko. I understand completely. But… Shinichi is himself because he do things like this. He'll come back eventually." Ran said with a somewhat strained but determined smile.
Seeing her like this, Akane felt jealous towards Kudo Shinichi as a man, but her determination made him want to just root for her.
That doesn't meant he wouldn't annoy the kid.
"You're a great woman, Mouri. Tell you what, if your husband never returns and I'm still single by the time you got tired if him, why don't we got hitch together?" Akane said, causing the girls and Conan looked at him, but the grin on his face made them realize that he was joking, so Sonoko played along with him.
"That's right, Ran. Yanagi is so handsome, you can never get enough of looking at him all day." Sonoko said in a joking manner.
That got Ran to laugh, and she decided to humor them this time.
"Fine. I'll be sure to contact you whenever that time came."
"Ran?!"
No one bothered with the voice of the child as the three of them started laughing.
~
"See ya!"
Everyone started saying their goodbyes as they finally left Akane's place. Most of them went to the train station, while Ran, Sonoko and Conan went to Ran's place where Sonoko's chauffeur will pick her up later.
"Take care, everyone." Akane said as he saw them off before returning upstairs back to his home.
Locking the door, he went straight to his room and willed his another one of his Gift to appear.
It was a… tablet and laptop combination, created by a famous gaming computer brand in his previous life, the device name being Z13. But the device itself isn't the Gift, but the software that comes with it.
Turning on the Z13 and his phone at the same time, Akane wanted to try the capabilities of this new gift, as this is how he plans to earn a sizable amount of money quickly, without doing too much work or getting into trouble – he prefers to enjoy peace for a short while before diving deeper into the pit of this world's darkness.
Connecting his phone to the Z13, Akane activated the software and started running it.
"Now then, God's Eye. Show me the money."
~
The next day, evening. Akane found himself in MPD, Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department, being stared at by a pretty policewoman incredulously, holding Akane's phone that was playing a video.
"Could you please repeat that again." She asked him, for the third time, while Akane just shrugged his shoulders and started explaining once again.
*
A few hours ago, after the classes starts, Akane immediately went out the class, declining invitations from his classmates telling them that he has something important errand to run.
When he was away from people's eyes, he pulled out his Z13 and activated the it's powers once more, and went to the designated location shown on the screen.
The God's Eye, from Furious 7, is a hacking device that can hack any type of technology using a camera and even a satellite, to find the location of an individual.
Akane was using it to track a criminal that he saw last night on the news as his test subject, a criminal wanted for the killing of his former boss, and was actually hiding instead of running away, just near the area of his school.
Akane's plan was just to take a picture of him, maybe even use his gift that he hasn't took out yet, and send the pictures to the authorities.
As he was tailing the criminal who bought a cigarette at a cigarette stall, taking pictures of him, Akane did a rookie mistake of not turning off the sound of the camera as it was taking a picture.
The criminal saw him, and when he saw it was just a high school student taking a picture of him, he pounced at Akane with a knife, not knowing it was the worst decision he could have ever make.
He immediately switched the camera mode to video and started recording, planning to use it as evidence.
"Oh, you shouldn't do that." Akane said, as the criminal was running at him with a knife, while Akane was taking everything in stride.
Dodging the knife easily, thanks to his training as well as his newly improved body due to the Cocktail, Akane has the leeway to taunt the criminal and annoy him further.
"Ah, do you even know how to hold a knife?"
"Woah, that was a close one. Tough luck, big guy."
"Eh? You slowing down, already? We've barely even started."
"Come on, man. You should at least be able to get it up, right?"
"Oh you meathead-wait, you're running? You think you can swing a knife at me and just walk away?"
When the criminal finally understood that he could not hit Akane, he ended up running away, but wasn't able to as Akane caught up with him in a flash and kicked him in his back.
Ending the recording, Akane called the cops, and kicked the criminal once in the head that he fainted, while Akane waited for the police to arrive.
When they did, he was asked to come to the station to give his statement, and he also ended up showing his video to add more records to the criminal.

And that's how Akane found himself, seating across this pretty policewoman, explaining his side of the story.
The policewoman was silent for a moment, before she looked at Akane disappointingly.
"You do know this is reckless, right?" She asked him in a reproachful tone.
"Yes, I do. That man was reckless for trying to attack me. What makes him think that he could take me on? He should be properly educated." Akane answered back, acting smug.
Hearing his answer, the pretty policewoman blanked out, as she doesn't have an idea how to handle the teenager in front of him. Seeing her predicament, Akane decided that it's enough and apologized to her.
"I'm sorry, I was just joking. I didn't think that someone as pretty as you would be interrogating me, so I decided to mess with you a bit." Akane said, stopping his powerful young master act.
Listening to his explanation, the pretty policewoman doesn't know whether to laugh or cry, but she decided to continue her questioning.
"So why did you do it in the first place, following him and taunting him to fight you?" She started.
"Well, to be perfectly honest, I have no intention of fighting him or capturing him myself. It's just that I saw him when I was buying a drink from a convenience store, the person who was at the news last night, and decided to take pictures of him and where he could possibly be hiding before reporting it to the police. I don't know how it works here, but where I'm from, I need evidence to show before the police could act, so I acted the way I did. But I made a mistake, as my phone was newly bought and I haven't had the need to change it's settings at the time, so he caught me before my plan even started. Haha, it's actually kind of embarrassing." Akane explained.
The pretty policewoman heard his story, and finally understand why what happened in the video, happened.
"Still, you do know what you did was dangerous, don't you?" The pretty policewoman pointed out.
"Yes, to the normal person, it is dangerous. But if it's just a knife or a gun, they're the same as unarmed to me." Akane said, looking straight at her eyes.
"Okay, believe in what you believe in, but I advise you not to do something like this ever again. In case you encounter something like this once more, contact the police, and we will handle the rest." She replied, rolling her eyes at his claims.
Her reply gave Akane a great idea, so he decided to run through with it.
"If that's the case, can I have you number? If you're the one I called, you will believe in me, won't you?" Akane said.
The pretty policewoman doesn't have a problem with it, so she gave him his number, and both of them get out of the room.
As luck would have it, they got out the same time the criminal that Akane helped captured, following along another cop who immediately looked at the pretty policewoman besides Akane.
Seeing the criminal, Akane decided to mess with him once more.
"Oh, you're even more wilted than you were earlier? Huh? Don't tell me you two started something inside?" Akane said, dragging the dull looking cop besides the criminal.
The cop turned red and white in a span of milliseconds, embarrassed at what Akane was implying, while the criminal turned red hot in anger and shouted, and once more pounced at Akane.
Everyone but Akane was shocked by his action but still managed to act appropriately – the male cop panicked and tries to grab him to no avail, and the pretty policewoman tried to stand in front of Akane to shield him only for him to grab her back.
Akane decided to meet the criminal head on, releasing a left straight towards the criminal's face, before following with a right hook. Akane was too fast and too strong for the criminal that he was already having a hard time differentiating north from south just from the left straight, but he finally arrived at lala land when Akane grabbed his shirt with his left hand before delivering a right uppercut, sending the criminal flying back to the male cop.
Giving one last look to his punching bag, Akane started straightening his clothes before looking at the pretty policewoman.
"Well, then. See you later, Miss Satou." He said before leaving the police headquarters, leaving the police officer's jaw hanging from his display.
~
Settling in the criminal to his cell, Takagi Wataru went back to the pretty policewoman, Satou Miwako, who was holding at the profile of the teen that she was questioning earlier, and was texting someone on her phone.
"Inspector Megure will surely get mad at me for this." He muttered to himself.
When he arrived near her, he noticed that she was intently looking at her phone, and he got worried about it.
"Miss Satou, is there a problem?" He asked her.
Her musings got interrupted, and she finally looked at him.
"Oh, Takagi. There's no problem, but…" She paused for a bit, feeling a bit tired of what she could have possibly unveiled.
"The kid from earlier, Yanagi Akane. Remember him saying that he'll see me later? I think I finally know why." Miwako said.
"Eh? What do you mean by that, Miss Satou?" Takagi asked.
"I haven't noticed before since I haven't seen the male counterpart of the uniform. That guy is apparently a transfer student to Teitan High School, and he's a classmate of Ran and Sonoko." She explained.
"Eh, Detective Mouri's daughter and the Suzuki Conglomerate Heir? They're his classmate?" Takagi said in surprise.
"That's right, and what's more, he lived fairly close to Ran's place. Haa~ I hope he doesn't get involve in cases like they do."
