บท 21: ~Lion’s Den~
'Are you alright?' Luna's voice came into the dizzy Huno's ears. Huno opened his eyes and did on reply. He felt his bones ache all over his body. When he tried to circulate his Qi energy to relieve the pain, he found out, there was no qi energy in his body. He also found out that the two energies that were separated in his body before were now intertwined together in his left-hand region.
He tried circulating those energies only to discover as they leave his left arm region to other regions the pain in his body increased. Immediately he retracted them back to his left arm region, and the pain reduced.
He faced Lee Wei and Luna, who were clenching his hand as they kept asking if he was alright. 'I'm fine, come in, I need Qi stones,' he said. Luna disappeared and after some time, he brought her out. She handed him the Qi stones and asked, 'What happened?'.
Huno pushed the two energies back into that space and absorbed Qi energy from the stones. 'I used those energies from that place, but I couldn't use them for too long,' Huno finally answered.
'Oh, so you weren't attacked by someone?' Lee Wei asked.
Huno looked around and saw the damage he had done. He smiled and said no, 'I was practicing.'
He turned to Luna and said, 'I could separate the two energies, well my core did the separation, not me,'.
He took out a healing pill and swallowed it before he continued, 'I don't know why after some time they merged violently, resulting in my current state,'.
'Check your core if it's damaged,' Lee Wei said, and Huno immediately checked.
He was relieved and glad to find out that his core wasn't damaged. 'It's fine,' he said. Lee Wei breathed out heavily, 'That's good,'.
Luna hugged him and said, 'don't do anything dangerous ever again,'.
Huno laughed, 'If I don't I won't get stronger,'.
He turned his head in one direction, and immediately seven balls flew toward him. When they got close to him, they stopped in mid-air and rotated. 'What are those?' Lee Wei asked.
'Something I made after merging the energies outside my body, oh I could make a zone with them,' Huno said.
'That's nice, like Luna's domain, right?' Lee Wei asked.
'A lot worse than her domain, unlike hers I can't push away energies from the zone neither can I weaken them but I think I can absorb a certain amount,' Huno explained. 'And there's one drawback because the energies in my body are separated I can't replace the energies that leave the zone unless I use this ball, if I replace from my body the ratio won't be balanced possibly affecting the zone and during a fight that can be a big drawback and oh I can't control several things to do different things,'.
'I see, maybe when you get to the True realm you can fight the problem of control,' Lee Wei said.
'What do you mean?' Huno asked.
'You will be able to divide your concentration at the True realm because you have a divine sense,' Lee Wei explained.
'Oh, then I need to get to that realm,' Huno smiled. 'Oh, one more thing, I think the more balls in the zone the more energy I can exact from the zone but the harder the control. This is just a theory though, I'll try it some time,'.
'Well, rest for now. You have enough time to give it a try later,' Lee Wei said.
'Okay, I don't think I need a cultivation technique, I just need someone to teach me hand-to-hand combat skills and technique,' Huno said. 'If possible skills based on speed,'.
'Wait, why is that?' Lee Wei asked.
'While I was practicing, I realized hand-to-hand combat skills will help exact those two energies better and cause more damage,' Huno replied.
'What if it's a long-range opponent?' Lee Wei asked.
'I have a long-range attack. I just need to polish it and work on my defense,' Huno said, and immediately one of the balls spun quickly. After spinning for some time, it flew away quickly into a tree before exploding in it.
'I see, but how many of these balls do you have and how fast can you make them?' Lee Wei asked.
'I can make them in a few moments, but I plan on making several in my free time,' Huno said. 'Alright enough about me, how come you guys took so long?' he asked.
'That's because of me, we went to the market to get some clothes,' Luna, who was quiet, replied.
'Anyway, the name of the city is starlight city,' Lee Wei said and brought out a map. 'So we are here, only a week away from the sect, I suggest we go here (touch a place on the map) king city it is a six-month journey from here, at the periphery of the Jui great family territory and like the Feng great family they have only one legendary realm,' he explained.
'Six months' journey is too much. I rather use that time to cultivate, but we need to put distance between us,' Huno said and looked at the map.
'What about here?' he said and pointed to a city on the map.
'That's Highrise city, about two and a half months from here. It's in the Chani great family territory. It is also two months away from the Chani family headquarter,' Lee Wei said.
'Luna, how much can you shorten a three months' journey?' Huno asked.
'If I'm holding your left I can shorten it by almost half so let's say a month and three weeks. If I forcefully increase my strength like last time it will take a month but your hand may get damaged,' Luna replied.
'So a two months journey will take you one, good we'll go here first, spend a month and then head to king city to settle down, Highrise and king city are in totally different directions they won't be able to trace easily,' Huno said.
'Alright that's good,' Lee Wei said.
Luna picked up a bag and handed it over to Huno, 'I bought those clothes for you, take me in I want to give senior sister and Ma Lie theirs,'.
'Okay,' Huno replied and took her in. A few moments later he brought her out with Ma Lie.
'Take me in again,' Luna said immediately. Huno frowned, stared at her, and then took her in.
The three boys each changed. In the bag, Huno found a white mask probably made by Luna, along with a pair of clothing. Huno changed and wore the mask which covered his mouth and nose.
He picked up the map and stared at it. His eyes landed on a city on the map not too far from the Starlight city. 'Brother, what's the name of this city?' Huno asked. 'That's Emperor city, one of the biggest cities, in the whole western region it ranks nine,' Lee Wei said. Huno smiled and Lee Wei was startled. 'What are you thinking?' He asked.
'What better place is there to hide if not the lion's den itself' Huno said.
'Are you kidding me?' Lee Wei asked.
'Nope, it's a big city, a noisy, good place to hide. Those under the peak foundation realm don't have to register to enter, right? I'm not at the peak, so I can enter without registering,' Huno said.
'True, but I thought we were trying to prevent you from being seen by others?' Lee Wei asked.
'One time won't hurt and once I pass through the gate, I can put on this,' Huno replied and raised his hand, holding a white mask.
'Very well, take,' Lee Wei said.
'Wait, what you agreed immediately?' Huno asked, collecting a bag from him.
'Thinking and planning was never my strong suit, junior sister always did the heavy thinking, if the plan has fifty percent chance of succeeding I got no problem,' Lee Wei replied.
'Okay, what's this for?' Huno asked.
'Silver coins, everyone pays to enter a big city, no matter the realm, so you'll need silver coins,' Lee Wei replied.
'Okay, Luna there's a change of plans, we won't be going far,' Huno said.
'Okay, whatever you decide,' Luna replied.
'Junior sister, junior brother, what do you both think?' Huno asked.
Ma Lie looked at him and gave a thumbs up while Xue Li replied, 'whatever the two senior brothers choose is fine,'.
'Huno, I'm done, let me out,' Luna said. 'Someone has gotten bossy,' Huno replied. 'I'm sorry, please Huno, I'm done,' Luna corrected herself.
'Come out,'.
'We should get going, does anyone need anything?' Lee Wei asked as Luna appeared. Ma Lie nodded, saying no, 'junior sister said no,' Huno replied.
'No for me too,' Luna said with her right hand raised.
Luna took Ma Lie and Lee Wei back in, and Huno brought her out.
'We are heading here,' Huno said and showed Luna the city. 'Don't get too close to the city, okay?'
'Alright,' Luna said, and wrapped him up. They got on the platform and flew away.
