several hours have passed and Richie was still unconscious.
But just then, Richie opened his eyes.
"with the amount of times I'm being knocked out you might as well call me the god of falling unconscious" Richie said to himself.
He was getting extremely fed up with him being knocked out so many times. But that didn't stop him from realising that his wounds were completely healed, it was if he had never been injured in the first place.
" system, did you do this" Richie asked, if somthing magical which couldn't not be explained using common sense ever happened, Richie would automatically assume it was the system's doing.
- yes, but it really took alot out of me-
- you would have died if it weren't for me expending so much of my yang energy to heal you- the system told Richie.
- but because of me healing your injuries, I now have an imbalance of yin and yang in my core. To fix this I am going to automatically take all of your yang element alchemy tokens to heal myself, you can keep the yin ones-
" Sorry, when did the alchemy tokens have elements, is there a special use for these tokens that you have not told me about" Richie asked suspiciously.
- no, they don't have any use to you, only I can use them for things other than purchasing items. Oh, just so you know, you will only receive half of the alchemy tokens you get, the ratio of yin tokens to yang tokens are equal, you receive them in a 1:1 ratio-
the system explained to Richie.
"well that sucks"
Richie then gazed back at the wall of tunnels, it seemed that somthing new was added, there were numbers on all of the doors now.
Richie then remembered the number that he saw at the end of the tunnel he previously went down.
357
Richie didn't know if there was any special significance to this number, bit it didn't matter to him, his eyes scanned the thousands of tunnels befor him until he finally found the right tunnel, it had the number 357 engraved above it.
" this must be it" since Richie didn't have any other leads on how to escape this place, he could only gi through the tunnel with the number 357, he didn't have anywhere better to go.
" my pill!, I completed the task didn't I, where is my nourishment pill?" Richie asked the system.
Richie was not going to let the system scam him of his only source of food and water, he would die if he didn't get water soon.
- oh yeah, I completely forgot about that, here take the pill -
- ding, task completed-
- please claim your 'nourishment pill' -
Richie then willed for the pill to appear in his hand, it did and he swallowed it whole. Instantly, Richie felt all of his hunger and thirst disappear.
" This pill is a lifesaver, literally"
Richie then continued down the 357 tunnel, it wasn't long before he entered the fust caven in this tunnel.
However Richie did not see an army of skeletons waiting for him, instead he saw a woman, in the centre of the cave, crying.
Richie walked up to the woman, he patted her shoulder, "are you okay miss" he said in his most hospitable and calm voice.
The woman's body them trembled as hre head turned 180 degrees to look at him, what he saw was horrifying.
The woman was not actually a woman, but a zombie! her face was tinged with a swampy green and her eyes were red, her skin seemed to be falling off.
" AAAAAH!" Richie screamed like a little girl as the zombie bit his arm.
A deep wound was left behind, it was oozing with blood. Richie, after recovering from his shock leaped backwards.
He then received another emergency quest.
( The tasks the system provides might be referred to as 'quests' or 'missions' but they also might be referred to as tasks if I forget)
- ding, emergency quest received-
- kill the zombie-
- reward: not dying, injuries healed, random attribute card -
- failure penalty: I think you can guess what the failure penalty is, death, if you didn't figure out by now-
Whilst Richie was looking at his lovely new quest, the zombie pounced on him, however it didn't manage to touch him, his body seemed to imitate what he previously did when the zombie bit him.
His body unconsciously jumped a few meters backwards before falling over.
" What the hell was that?" Richie asked himself. but then he figured it out, his hypersensitive muscle memory, it activated and saved him from being jumped by the zombie.
so it does work! Richie realised, before, he simply thought that it was just his reaction time being increased, but no, his body moved by itself. The thought of his body moving by itself really creeped out Richie. He hoped that if he died, his body wouldn't continue to move after his death, like a reanimated corpse, that would be weird.
Richie bounced back up as soon as he hit the floor, this zombie wasn't slow like the zombies in horror stories or even movies, no this one was lightning quick and Richie could only just barely avoid its attacks using his enhanced reflexes
( the hypersensitive muscle memory can work unconsciously but it can also help your reaction time increase as by the time you realise what's going on, your body will have already moved all that is left for you to do is to also move, but this time consciously, if that makes sense)
from the aura the zombie was producing, Richie could kind of guess its realm and main element.
(most non human beings have a specialised element which they are better at using, for skeletons it would be the death element, for the gale wolf, it would be the wind element)
Richie guesses that it was at the peak of the 2nd realm, if it was in the third realm, Richie would already be dead.
currently Richie was completely on the defensive side, if he were to attack, he would sustain great injurys and probably be infected with harmful death energies.
Richie fired out 100 fire missiles, these missiles had about the same power as the gale wolf's wind attacks. ( chapter 4)
in total, for that attack, Richie used about 10% of his qi, all distributed between the hundred fire missiles.
These missiles were only sent out by Richie's to distract the zombie and hinder its movement, therefore allowing Richie to attack the zombie without being hit.
If it were before Richie had consumed the spirituality gem, Richie wouldn't have a clue on how to go about killing the zombie, bit the gem seemed to greatly enhance his thinking skills.
After avoiding the zombie attack for a couple of seconds, the zombie had to prevent the fire missile from reaching it, it couldn't just run away anymore, it didn't know the missiles strength, but it assumed that each and every one was extremely powerful, none of the missiles were powerful though.
Richie was right in front of the zombie, he used his most powerful move, it was one of the only Hong clan skills his father taught him.
" Hong clan secret art: supernova punch! "
