Two days had passed they had gotten their things ready and were ready to go.
Old Man Su handed over the affairs of his inn to the old man at the reception, like he always did when he went travelling.
No body found this fishy and only thought it was normal.
"Xiao Qi ah" Zhao Xing called out to her as they took off. "Let's not tell the Crown Prince about the poison thing." She had realized that if Zhang Zhengyang knew she had been poisoned, he would be mad, and do some unnecessary things. In short it would be too troublesome. At least the Zhang Zhengyang she left behind would probably refuse to allow her from following him back, because of the dangers that may lie ahead.
"Humph! You're not my master, you can't tell me what to do." Xiao Qi retorted.
Zhao Xing pursed her lips and refrained from rolling her eyes.
'Who has been ordering you around all this while?'
"Aiya, Xiao Qi jiejie (sister), we're good friends, can't you help me out this once, considering all we've gone through." Zhao Xing leaned in and hugged the arm of the girl next to her, annoying the other party to death.
"Zhao Xing! No. It's a rule, we are NOT allowed to hide any single thing from the master. Do you want me to receive punishment?" She answered.
"But no one knows apart from you, Brother Mo and the Poison Master. I already talked to him and Old Man Su agreed, besides him Brother Mo also agreed…"
"He what!?" Xiao Qi released her arm from the hands of the pest beside her angrily. "That SON OF A ****, Does he want both of us to die?? Wait till I lay my hands on him." She said this and was about to get on her feet."
Zhao Xing really ended up rolling her eyes in the end. She held Xiao Qi's arm and dragged her back. "Aiya! Just listen to my explanation and maybe you'll understand…"
"Understand what? The Crown Prince trusts me greatly, if he ever realized that I lied to him, do you not want me to keep my head?" Of course the Crown Prince pampered her, but that didn't mean she shouldn't follow the rules. I mean, why were there rules if they didn't follow it? And anyone that didn't follow it, would be punished heavily for it. Normally, everyone is watching everyone else but the master trusts me so much and exempted me from this, now you want me to betray…Zhao Xing what exactly are you thinking."
"Big sister, can you calm down and listen to me for a bit?" She had a feeling she was going to be hard to deal with. It was a good thing she had told Old Man Su and Brother Mo prior to this. If Xiao Qi was there she would have lowered her morals with words like these, she was sure of it.
Xiao Qi glared at her, but sat back down in the end. Only the two of them took this carriage, Brother Mo was riding. There was one more carriage. The poison master sat there along with some of Xiao Qi's people.
"See, you can tell the Crown Prince, just not during this trip. Look, if you do tell him, it'll only make things troublesome. The Crown Prince must be very busy with affairs concerning the disaster relief, this is just a trivial matter, we could always tell him later, besides it's not like the poison master won't cure me eventually." Zhao Xing saw Xiao Qi had somewhat calmed down and decided it was time to deliver the final blow. "Also, you said my plan was stupid…I also think what I did was silly, and so let me take this as my punishment, I'll suffer it in silence."
Her words were indeed effective. At least she didn't say to not tell the master, but just delaying the matter from reaching his ears. She also thought Zhao Xing was too stubborn and needed some punishment.
Well Xiao Qi didn't know all that went through Zhao Xing's mind as well as her true motives and eventually agreed.
The Journey to meet the Crown Prince took much longer than when they came, mostly because they had increased in number. It was smooth, not many events happened on their way back
During the journey Old Man Su would always inquire about his granddaughter, when he did he would stare at Zhao Xing coldly and discussed with Xiao Qi most times.
'After trying so hard to please you with snacks and tea, who would treat someone like you the way I did?'
That time she had asked Brother Mo what was perfect to give someone, so they would feel at ease and he answered that food would be the most effective. He had been the one that suggested bringing pastries. She also thought it was a good idea, who would have thought the old man would be so petty. It wasn't like she tortured Xi Xi. The child was in good hands.
It would seem like they had taken her away, but Xi Xi actually remained in Small Merchant Valley, and didn't follow them.
The idea was also hers, though it meant her hands weren't long enough to monitor what was happening, she trusted that Xiao Qi's people would take good care of her. So when Old Man Su was done with helping them, he would just return home and meet his granddaughter there.
Wasn't she a genius?
Old Man Su had already given her the remedy, as well as the prescription that was handed over to Xiao Qi, because the other party wanted to and she could do nothing about it. But hopefully she didn't let Zhang Zhengyang see it when they arrived. She doesn't want to be in trouble.
She also had to say goodbye to the sweet enjoyable three days she spent wearing girls' clothes. Now that she was leaving she would have to revert back to her 'former' appearance. She also enjoyed the days she spent in this little town, one could forget that some parts of the south wasn't doing all that well when staying here. She thought, there should be more people that should visit the place. At least she'd like to come back here. This world was so big, she also wish she could explore it more. It made her envy Xiao Qi.
But this wasn't bad. She was just satisfied she had accomplished her reason for coming. Once she saw that Smiley Face she was sure to ask for a huge reward. Doesn't she deserve it?
As she thought about this, she looked out the window absentmindedly.
"Hey."
Xiao Qi beckoned on her, "You shouldn't let the window open for so long, it's not safe."
Zhao Xing nodded and dropped the curtain. "Xiao Qi ah, how's it like to travel around, going wherever you want?"
