บท 16: A Mikaelson Wedding and Trouble.
They walked back to the house, and bumped into Kol and Davina on the way.
"What the bloody hell happened to you two?" Kol asked.
"Is this appropriate behavior, Headmistress Forbes?" Davina laughed at her, "Drinking ?"
Caroline looked embarrassed,
"No...I...just…." And suddenly, it hit her, there was something they had overlooked earlier.
"Klaus?!" She almost yelled, her tone sounded urgent. "The white oak."
"Wait, what??" Kol looked at her. "White oak?"
"If they had bullets." Caroline wondered, "They might have more."
"She's right." Klaus told them. "Davina, can you do a locator spell?"
"And why would I do it for you?" Davina pouted.
"Because the same thing will kill Kol." Caroline reminded her, "And Elijah, and Rebekah. And the sirelines, which means all the vampires in the Salvatore School, and me."
"I'll get to it!" Davina looked from Caroline to Kol.
"And now, Hayley and Elijah have to know." Klaus was calling Elijah,
"That's what usually happens!" Caroline shook her head. "Hayley goes to New Orleans, and we call them because there is trouble."
"Mikaelsons…." Davina smiled.
Klaus clicked the phone off.
"Okay, Hayley and Elijah are on alert." He said,
Klaus and Caroline got married six days later, in Mystic Falls. With the white oak on the loose, and Finn Mikaelson with his mother's mission.
Elijah suggested that they shouldn't delay the wedding, because of it, and have a little happiness.
Tensed as they were, the wedding happened.
Bonnie and Elena as her maids of honor. Lizzie, Josie, and Hope in blue colored dresses. Obviously, Caroline's choice.
Kol Mikaelson was ordained, and he was officiating the ceremony.
"Caroline, in a thousand years, I haven't seen a woman like you."
She smiled.
"Beautiful, smart, noble." He said, "And hell, you drive me crazy sometimes."
Damon snorted, Elena smiled.
"And when I first saw you." he continued, "I really didn't care about much, but it became impossible not to be attracted to you."
He said,
"I made a promise to you," He told her, "I intended to be your last love, no matter how much time it took. And it took a long time. But I did it."
Tears were in Caroline's eyes.
"I am in love with you, Caroline," He told her, "And nothing more than eternal life with you, love!"
There were not many people at the ceremony. But it was beautiful.
Caroline took out her cards she was holding. She gave them to Bonnie.
"I don't need these."
She turned back.
"I was dead scared of Klaus the first time I saw him. I was actually seventeen then," She said. "But after a few years. I started to see what most people never saw."
Hope smiled at Caroline. She glanced at everyone.
"What everyone saw, they always saw what he did. But never why he did."
Elijah was in deep thought.
"I didn't see at first, but when I did." She was smiling. "I couldn't unsee it, even I reminded myself of all the horrible things he did. But I couldn't."
She looked directly in Klaus's eyes.
"The light in his darkness." He took her hands. "Didn't let me let go. And I fell in love, hopelessly and it was out of my control. Sure, it annoyed me."
Bonnie laughed softly.
"But I loved you for two years. And I will. Always and Forever!"
Elijah, Rebekah and Kol exchanged looks. Klaus looked at her, his eyes slightly teary. Caroline hadn't heard the story of always and forever. But he didn't know why she said it.
"Klaus?" Caroline was surprised.
"Nothing…" He smiled.
Caroline dismissed it as an illusion.
"By the power vested in me by a pope in the 14th century and the internet...." Kol said loudly.
"Well, well, well!"
Everyone turned around.
"If it isn't a family gathering!" Finn Mikaelson stood behind them.
They didn't recognize him, since he was possessing a witch's body.
"Finn?" Elijah stepped ahead.
"Why do you always disregard me as a family member?!" Finn spat.
"Because you are such a colossal ass hat!" Rebekah told him.
"Mother died for this and I will complete her noble work." He laughed maniacally.
Klaus stepped in front Hope, Caroline stood in front of Lizzie and Josie.
"Unlike mother!" He told them, "I do not involve children in my work. I am quite capable of avenging her without children!"
Freya Mikaelson stood there.
"Come, join me, Sister!" Finn had a hand out.
Freya shook her head.
"For years, I have looked for a family!" She told him, "I will not let you kill them...….Finn, join us, we are family!"
"NO!" He shouted, Hope crouched behind Klaus, "I would rather die than be a part of this family!"
His hands were on his back, as he brought them in front. He was holding a white oak stake.
Davina stood with Freya, Bonnie joined them.
"We will create a distraction!" Freya told them. "Run, and run like hell!"
Caroline made way for Damon and Elena first, and they ran. Hayley and Caroline held their daughters arms as they headed for the woods.
"Go!" Klaus told them, "Both of you!"
He told Hayley and Caroline.
"Where are you going?" Caroline asked him.
"I am going back, I don't back from a fight!"
"Neither do I!" Cried Caroline and Hayley.
"I know," Klaus shook his head exasperatedly, sometimes it annoyed him so much that two of the most important women in his life were extremely controlling. "But, this fight is between us, no need for you to come in it. Just take the girls away, before Finn decides he can use children to get his way!"
