It's been a week since Andrew confessed to Angelina, and he still doesn't have the courage to confront her.
Angelina took one last look in the mirror. She was dressed in an A-line red dress that reached her ankles and her hair was pulled back. She was wearing long earrings that complemented her appearance, as well as high silver heels that completed her overall look.
Lucy waited outside the apartment for her. She was going to the banquet with Angelina today. She also got a little dressed up. She was dressed in a white gown with a front slit. She wore her hair in a loose bun with a few strands sticking out, highlighting the face cut.
Angelina got into the car. Lucy could tell her boss was in a bad mood. Her mood had been deteriorating over the last week. She was aware that her boss's mood had been affected by that legendary confession.
She was aware that her boss's mood had been affected by that legendary confession.
Lucy could think of two reasons why Angelina seems to be an old grumpy man. First and foremost, she was opposed to Andrew's confession and wished to develop a friendly or professional relationship with him. Second, he vanished after making the confession.
She was more inclined to believe the latter.
They arrived at their destination. Angelina's entrance causes people to take a second look at her. She ignored all of those stares and moved her attention to the main star of this party.
Mr. Austin was overjoyed to see Angelina at his birthday dinner. He had a favorable opinion of her. He recalls that the first time they met, she put a proposal in front of him and said, "Today, if you don't show any interest in investing in my project, you will definitely regret it."
He was impressed by her boldness but did not take her words seriously. He only invested in her project because he expected her to fail and thus teach her a lesson. At the time, he could guide and protect her as an elder. He recognized her talent, but she lacked the necessary experience to maneuver the ruthless business battlefield.
Mr. Austin never imagined she'd be able to become the biggest nemesis of all those biggie CEOs. She proved him wrong, and he would certainly regret not accepting her proposal. Not because he could make more money, but because he would be competing with her. Trust me, standing against her was not a good thing.
"Good to see you here, Miss Hunt. I am honored that you came to my birthday celebration." Mr. Austin was especially courteous to her.
"Mr. Austin, do I appear scary? " Angelina's question came out of nowhere.
Mr. Austin was taken aback for a moment when he heard her question. "Err... Miss Hunt, you are a lovely lady. How could you possibly appear scary? " Mr. He said with a forced smile. How could he admit that she was in actual fact very scary? He really loved his business and life.
Then why do I see a glint of fear in your eyes every time we meet?" "
Lucy noticed that her boss was being too direct today, and that she was venting her rage on others.
Mr. Austin received a pitiful look from her.
Mr. Austin " "
"Miss Hunt, anyone should be afraid of you if they knew what abilities you possessed. You once caused quite a stir in the business world. So I should take care not to offend you." Mr. Austin said, employing all of his flattery skills.
Angelina was pleased with his response. She came to the conclusion that people were intimidated by her talent.
"Perhaps people should be cautious around me. They never know when or how something will happen to their business," Angelina agreed.
'Is Andrew also afraid of offending me?' she pondered. That's why he went missing for a week.'
Mr. Austin's lips twitched as he heard her speak about destroying other companies as if she were discussing the weather. She had no qualms about offending others.
What's the point of reminding her when she's already offended a lot of people?
"Father, do we have some important guests?" Mr. Austin's younger son Albert Austin said when he noticed his father had been talking with a young lady for quite some time. He became curious as to who could have caused his father to be so polite.
"Her name is Angelina Hunt. I told you about her already. She is a business genius," She is a business genius."
Mr. Austin turned toward Angelina and pointed at his son. "This is my son, Albert Austin. He had only recently returned to the country. He was in charge of my other business outside of the country. Now that he had come after so long, so he was unaware of the changes that had occurred in recent years."
"Hello, Miss Hunt. It's a pleasure to meet you. I've heard a lot about you," Albert Austin said, reaching out his hand.
"Young Mr. Austin, please excuse me, but my boss is very sensitive to other people's touch." Lucy took his hand on behalf of her boss.
Albert shook his hand with her and looked at Angelina. He had heard a lot about her being a ruthless businesswoman. He couldn't connect her beautiful appearance to the ruthless CEO. He even doubted her abilities.
"I'm not bothered. I understand you must be uncomfortable shaking hands with others," he said after a brief pause, "But as a businesswoman, you must eventually do these common greetings. Otherwise, you risk offending a large number of people."
When he saw his son teaching Angelina basic business etiquette, Mr. Austin broke out in cold sweat. He could tell she didn't give a sh**t to his son. Otherwise, s he wouldn't force her assistant to shake hands with him if she didn't have to.
"Albert, don't try to cross the line," he said softly to his son. "I hope you don't mind his rudeness, Miss Hunt."
Angelina shook her head. She didn't care about such small flies who look down on others without realizing that they don't have the capital to offend a bigshot like her.
Angelina shook her head. She didn't care about such small flies who look down on others without realizing that they don't have the capital to offend a bigshot like her. People commonly bow in front of others, or in front of power." she said, looking Albert in the eyes. " You're new here, Mr. Albert. Some things will take some time for you to grasp. Instead of being afraid to offend others, strengthen yourself so that others will think twice before offending you."
After hearing her, Albert was taken aback. He'd never considered it in this light before. Her strong personality piqued his interest, and for some reason he desired to be close to her.
"Please forgive me, Miss Angelina, for my rudeness. I didn't mean to offend you with my words," he said, smiling politely.
Lucy could see where things were going to take turn. Albert's affectionate gaze had caught her attention.
"I don't mind at all. But you must be careful with your words because you never want to offend others." Angelina made a witty remark.
Albert chuckled as he noticed she was teaching the same thing he had told her some time ago. "Didn't you say, Miss Angelina, that one must fortify oneself so that no one can offend one?" Albert said this in a lighthearted tone.
"That theory does not apply to you," Angelina says, launching a personal attack.
"Miss Angelina, your comment gives me the impression that you are looking down on me. I hope it was a joke." He assumed she was acting cold towards him in order to maintain her cold CEO image. But her next sentence was like a slap on his face.
