IVAN POV
The scream that filled the room made me feel nauseated. I already gave up struggling a long time ago. Nyana's magic held me like steel, coiling around my limbs and mind in invisible chains, binding me in place as I was forced to watch the nightmare unfold. Kiran and Harald were caught just as I was, tense and silent, their fury as useless as mine against her.
The women, huddled around the children, didn't dare to make a sound. They could only shield the little ones as best they could, their faces pale with terror as they rocked and shushed, trying to muffle the sobs that kept slipping out. Even Raven, who had held on so bravely until now, had broken down, his thin cries of fear and confusion filling the air between Rollin's tortured screams.
