บท 567: WHISPERS AND SECRETS

RISSA POV

My heels clicked against the polished floor of the castle as I made my way towards the throne room where I knew the council meeting was being held, anger coursing through my system. I couldn't believe what I just heard and it had better not be true! 

The rumors had reached me just moments ago, I was busying attending to Raheem when I heard some of the maids whispering. It has been going for some days now, the low whispers and I caught words like 'Eragon' and the 'Queen of wolves.'

They were talking about my sister, of course. Something had happened, something they were too afraid to say openly in my presence. But the part that gnawed at my mind, that clawed at my insides like a sickness, was what I overheard next: talk of a war, of the Dark Lord, and some unthinkable alliance forced upon my sister.

Allying with him?

It had better remain a fucking rumor, or so help me gods, I'd burn this castle down with my rage alone.
