บท 306: A TOKEN OF APPRECIATION

ARIANNE POV

The only thing I could hear for a long time was silence and darkness became my companion. For a moment, even if it was just for a moment everything was peaceful for a while. I wanted to stay here, where I couldn't see anything and just float through the dark space. But I couldn't stay here. My time wasn't over just yet. I still had things to do and I had a family to be with, people to return to and a kingdom to rule.

When I opened my eyes, I was met with silence but this time around the soft chirping of birds by my window made me aware that I was back. Soft sunlight streamed through the window which illuminated the room. My body felt incredibly sore, like I had been trampled over by a stampede of horses. A groan escaped my lips as I pushed myself up from the bed.
