Since his system declared that he had no control over the dark side, he decided to time himself and see how long it would take for Dez to show up. However, this wasn't a simple experiment that would be done overnight. For this to work, he needed to conduct these time tests for days and fully master the pattern in which Dez would show up and disappear.
