There are many ways for Tom to defend himself, but he chose the easiest and quickest: the Stun Spell, Physical Version.
Because Wood's dueling form was simply outrageous! The disarming spell could knock the wand out of his opponent's hand, but the problem was that [Sister] didn't have a wand in her hand at the time, and the disarming spell was ineffective against her.
Tom cast a recovery spell and healed Wood's abdomen to stop the pain.
"Please, next time you fight, bring your brains." Tom held his forehead, feeling that Wood really needed some practical training, his fighting instincts weren't quite up to par and he wouldn't get high marks on the practical exams.
"Again!" Oliver Wood shook his head. He felt he had just made a mistake. He took a deep breath, thought about his next move, and pondered for a while before nodding to Professor Lockhart that he was ready to begin.
When Wood was thinking, Tom didn't rush him. He didn't want to win, he wanted the seniors to learn something from the combat. It was useless for him to beat his opponent, but if being beaten ten times was enough to raise a grade on an exam, today he could raise an entire class to distinction.
At the beginning of the duel, Wood did not rush to attack, but instead put on a Protego charm. Tom, for his part, manipulated [Sister] to pull his wand from the hilt of his sword.
"Expelliarmus!" Wood saw the wand in [Sister]'s hand and immediately decided to use the disarming spell, but Tom quickly deployed a Protego charm, bouncing the disarming spell back and forth as the tip of the wand twitched slightly, "Avis!"
As he cast this spell, Tom deliberately turned up the [Sister]'s magic power to maximum, so he saw the top version of the flock of birds.
"Protego Duo- ouch!"
It turned out that Hermione had actually held back that day, and the spell was more powerful than Tom had expected, as dozens of brown birds rushed at Wood as if shot out of a shotgun, and Wood's protego charm only lasted a split second before it broke, breaking Wood's next charm.
His incantation was interrupted before he had a chance to cast it.
If Hermione's flock of birds was like a light drizzle, Tom's flock of birds, full out, was like a hailstorm, the birds pounding against flesh, the pounding so loud Tom couldn't bear to watch.
This time, however, Wood was able to protect his vital organs, and the birds hit him mostly on his arms and shoulders,
He was only grimacing, but he was not helpless. Wood, being the Quidditch keeper that he was, was still very resilient, and with a flick of his wand, a jet of flames burst forth, engulfing the birds and causing them to dissipate.
The flames soon became an arrow of fire that shot out towards [Sister], but was dispersed by her one-handed sword.
At that moment, the [Sister], clad in heavy armor, stood in front of Wood with a sword in one hand and a wand in the other, standing in front of him with an overwhelming presence, evidently less than 5'6" tall, but with an aura that completely dominated Wood, who was 5'7" tall.
The longsword waved slightly in his hand, and Wood swallowed saliva at the cold light reflecting off of it, "Professor, I don't think I'm going to attack with the longsword next."
She thought he would be able to fight off the birds, but if he was swept away by the long sword he would go to the school hospital.
"What makes you think he won't use the longsword?" Tom had gone to the trouble of perfecting his hand movements and adding a few sword strokes, just to look cool?
Wood was about to explode: how could this be a fight?
But [Sister] didn't give him a chance to argue, she stepped forward and swung the back of her sword at Wood with a slight deflection.
"Protego!" Wood had no choice but to block the attack, "Impedimenta!"
The Protego Charm blocked the sword from [Sister]'s hand, while the Impediment charm stopped it, allowing Wood to regain distance from her. Had it been Marcus, of Slytherin, Wood would have engaged with fists, wand thrown, face to face, fist to fist, and Wood would have been sure to have beaten the half-breed troll until he screamed for his mother. But against a heavily armored swordsman like [Sister], Wood decided to be a pure wizard.
Tom moved his fingers like a gust of wind, first he broke Wood's Protego Charm, then his longsword flew and his attacks continued. Wood could only release one protego enchantment after another, each small transparent shield only able to withstand one or two slashes before it was shattered.
For a while, the room was filled with the sound of metallic clanking.
The young wizards on stage fell silent as they remembered their prowess with the protego spell, thinking that they probably wouldn't be able to withstand such an onslaught.
But Wood didn't have much time to waste, as the [Sister]'s attack suddenly stopped, her longsword slammed into the ground and her wand glowed red.
"Desmaius!"
Wood rolled and dodged the spell.
The reason Tom didn't continue his attack was that Wood was already seven meters away, so if he drove [Sister] any further, he would have lost control of [Sister], so he switched back to magic mode.
Fireballs, small tornadoes, ice spikes, spell after spell was cast by Tom, and Wood fought back, relying on his skilled protego enchantment to counterattack defensively.
Gradually, Wood seemed to find his way, and the situation between him and [Sister] went from being hit one-sidedly to being hit one out of ten times, but [Sister] was able to block all the attacks.
Tom's mastery of the hilt was getting better and better, with the three spinning wheels crackling and the [Sister] performing spell after spell under his control, and even a combination of moves. For example, she first set fire to the ground to block his position, and then followed up with a barrage of birds, which made Wood's life very complicated. But Tom was a bit lenient, as if he had followed up the combo with a few more spells, Wood would have been out of the game.
Tom was controlling the time, trying to get all the students in the ring as much as possible so that each of them had enough time to fight.
Wood blew out the flames on his robes, feeling the burning sensation in his hands, and had a good idea, but it would take a bit of a delay to make it work, a delay spell that he wasn't very good at yet. But what did it matter? It was only a chronic death anyway! The Gryffindor spirit in Wood burned brightly and he decided to take a chance.
"Nebulus!" Wood was lucky and the spell was used successfully. From the tip of his staff came a huge cloud of mist that covered the podium in a matter of seconds, and Wood managed to hide.
"Accio Broom!" Wood cast a summoning spell on his broom.
Tom lost his vision and looked at the spell with interest, "Is that a spell only seniors learn? Looks interesting."
Wood himself was trying to buy time, so he spoke to Tom, quickly changing position as he did so, so as not to be spotted by Tom. The fog he had created was still flowing as well, and the smoke hid Wood's location.
"So that's it, the weather spell Professor Flitwick gave the seniors, sounds good, too bad I didn't study it more seriously when I was in school." Through Wood's explanation, Tom learned that the Nebulus spell was a weather spell that Professor Flitwick had taught the seniors.
"... Professor Flitwick also said that if we want to work at the Ministry of Magic, we have to master this spell well, because there are a lot of weather offices there, and if we know the Nebulus spell, we won't be left unable to work because it keeps raining heavily in our offices."
Percy nodded, he knew the spell by heart, he was just waiting for the day when there would be a problem in his boss's office and he could step in and take care of it.
"But if that's the case, why not put it off a little longer? It's a good time to take a break from fishing..." Tom rubbed his chin, suddenly wondering if the witches really didn't know the weather spells.
I'm afraid they're faking the office rain as an excuse to go to work and paddle and fish!
Percy: "..."
Wood: "Ah... this..."
Professor Lockhart had him puzzled.
At that moment his flying broom came flying in through the window, stopped beside him and he climbed on it.
"Interesting, gaining aerial proficiency with a flying broom!" Tom praised, and instead of casting a spell to disperse the fog, he directed [Sister] into the fog as well.
"Now that you can't see [Sister] either, what are you going to do?"
Wood flashed a sunny, bright smile, "Professor, since it's a fight, you're a target too, right?".
Tom: "???"
Wood then pulled a packet out of his pocket, lit it and tossed it to Tom.
"From the honor of the Weasley Magic Trickster, Wild Weasley Magic Tricksters!"
The package burned violently in the air, and the next second the fireworks were about to go off.
Tom laughed, "A little trick!"
He controlled the [Sister] and applied a fade spell, against something like that, you only need a fade spell.
"If you use a fade spell, it will increase tenfold." Kind Wood warned Tom after he used the fading spell, and flew out of the classroom through the window.
Tom:"!!!!"
Fred and the others do fireworks that are so special?!! Is this something a little wizard who isn't in fifth grade can do? Fred and George had so many gag toys that Tom couldn't remember the characteristics of each one, so he suffered a bit of a disadvantage.
"Everyone, take cover!" he shouted, and immediately waved his wand, turning the table into a thin wooden wall in front of the students watching from the corner of the room, but he didn't have time to put on the Protego Charm.
He immediately rushed into the mist and changed his form to that of a three-headed dog, which then formed a large ball....
