บท 9: life 2
It was in the middle of the night. The sky was covered in clouds, there was no sign of the moon or stars in the sky.
'Ha...ha...ha…' Biwaki was running for his life. His breathing was heavy, behind him blood curdling screams were heard. He doesn't know why everything ended up like this. All the villagers are slaughtered mercilessly. The entire village was on fire.

Biwaki was 18 this year. As a young adult, everybody says that he will have a bright future ahead. He was planning to leave their village and move to the town in near future. Biwaki had ambitions of becoming a successful businessman. He had already talked to the owner of a renowned shop in the town and they agreed to hire him at the shop, at a good pay.
He was ecstatic about the golden life he was about to live.
But everything changed today.
While sleeping in his room, Biwaki heard a knocking at his door followed by a loud voice addressing him.
"Biwaki!! Biwaki!! Open the door!!" it was already midnight, Who could be at his house at this hour? Biwaki got off his bed and walked towards the door. Upon opening the door he noticed the person standing there had a scared look on his face. It was his friend who lived in the neighbourhood. They have known each other since childhood.
Though they were 'friends', Biwaki always thought of him beneath himself. To biwaki this friend of his had a quite dumb personality. Whenever biwaki asked him, would he be willing to move to the town for a better life? He always said things like 'I was born in his village and I will die here.'.
He doesn't have any strong ambitions like biwaki had, so to him this friend is quite a humdrum.
"What is it Taka? Why are you here at this hour?" Biwaki asked.
To which taka practically screamed in front of his face. "Biwaki! The village is in attack! We have to run away!"
Whatt?!
Biwaki couldn't process what he said.
"What do you mean, the village is in attack?!"
" Yes!! There are shinobis attacking the village! Come, we have to run away! " yelled taka, almost being paranoid.
Biwaki didn't understand, this was too sudden for him. Why would the shinobi attack their village out of nowhere? What is happening?
He hurriedly followed taka out of the house. He saw many people running away frantically. Some were shirtless, some even without trousers. Women are running with their children in tow, low screams could be heard from farway allies. It was a complete mayhem.
Taken aback by this, biwaki stopped ,frozen. Only to move after taka shook him.
"What's wrong! Let's go!!"
"Y-yeah" biwaki didn't dwell much longer and started running after taka.

Biwaki could hear the screams in the village dying down.
Taka, who was with him, said that they had to warn the other villagers who were still in their homes and asked biwaki to help him. But Biwaki denied, to him his life was more precious than others. He has to save himself first.
So taka left him and proceeded to go on his own.
As a result Biwaki was alone running frantically to save his life.
But suddenly, he stumbled on the ground and fell down. He hurriedly tried to get up, when he heard a low chuckle behind him.
He turned to see a man standing behind him. He had a rock shinobi headband on his forehead, with a malicious grin on his face and blood splattered over his clothes.
" Well~Well~ Looks like your little run ends here~ " said the man with a amused expression (*cringe ).
'H-how… I l- I didn't notice him' He was stunned, he didn't sense anybody standing behind him. ( a/n well of course you will not, the guy's a ninja).
"Okay then, let's finish you off first." said the man taking out a shuriken.
"Wa- wait-"
*splurt*
Biwaki's plea ended before it even left his mouth. The shuriken pierced his skull. He was too slow to even react to that.
Within a matter of seconds, his goals, his ambitions, his dreams ended along with his life.
The man took a last look at the lifeless body in front of him before turning to the way of the village.
In front of a burning house, another man with a rock headband was looking at the boy he just killed with a kunai on his hand.
Suddenly, noticing the man walking towards him, he asked "Katsura, did you finish off those who were fleeing?"
Katsura, the man who just killed biwaki answered, "Yes, Daiki -san, you don't have to worry I killed all of them."
Hearing this, Daiki nodded in acknowledgement. " Hmm…"
They were deployed here to clear off the villages in this area, so that iwagakure can use these places to their benefit.
Daiki was one of the 5 chuunins in his group. While Katsura was a genin. They are tasked by the group leader along with some other members to kill all the civilians in this village.
"Ah! Daiki -san, you don't have to do this on your own, you know?. You are a chuunin. You can leave these type of things to us genins." said katsura.
To which Daiki replied with a serious tone "No, this is for iwagakure, We have to do our own tasks."
"Alright~ I understand." Kataura shrugged.
"Ok. We're done here, let's go meet others. There are more villages we have to clear out within tomorrow." said Daiki.
"Yes, let's go"
They both left the place to meet up with their group members.
