"I'll give you a foot massage," Édouard offered.

"No, I haven't had a chance to clean them," Charlotte replied firmly.

Édouard called for a servant and requested a vessel of lukewarm water. "And bring a towel as well," he added, maintaining his hold on Charlotte's legs.
