Édouard woke up feeling unusually tired and realized it was already afternoon. Charlotte was not in the room, and he could tell she wasn't around earlier either. He tossed the duvet aside, rubbing his eyes and letting out a big yawn. To shake off the tiredness, he decided to do a light exercise to help himself feel better.

He got down from the bed and put on his slippers to go to the washroom. An hour later, he emerged wearing a velvet robe and spotted Charlotte sitting on the chaise. When she saw him, she smiled and remarked on his late wake-up, something she hadn't seen before.

"Why didn't you wake me up? I was sleeping like I was an unconscious person," Édouard said and walked up to her. He wrapped his arms around her. "I am tired but I have to go out," he muttered.

"You can go out tomorrow. It's not necessary for you to work today only," Charlotte reassured him, gently caressing his back.
