Charlotte came out in the dressing gown that Édouard handed her earlier after she took a bath. She sat on the mattress to relax. She gently dabbed the towel over her wet hair strands to dry them.
She looked at the table and found the servants had already set a breakfast table for them. Her stomach growled in hunger and she rose to her feet. Putting the towel on the bed, she went toward the table and picked up the berry that was over the pie.
She pulled out the chair and sat on it. Grabbing a fork, she picked up the small slice of pancake and ate it. "The food is delicious," she murmured and continued eating until Édouard came out.
Quickly she put the fork down and gazed in his direction. "You took time. I was waiting for you," she said.
Édouard saw the honey on her lips as he approached her. "Were you eating?" He pulled out the chair for him and sat on it.
"I ate a little. I was dying of hunger," she replied when felt his thumb on her lips.
