บท 51: The Beautiful Memories
Mia's POV
I found myself in a familiar environment. I thought that I might be inside the stone realm and looked around but then realized that it was the dream that had haunted me for years.
This time everything seemed different because stead of my childhood self, I the older me is inside this dream.
I began to walk in the green field. Suddenly, it began to rain heavily. I went to a nearby tree to take shelter.
"*sob* Mom*sob*", I heard someone sobbing.
I went to look around and then saw a boy sitting beneath a nearby tree. His face was hidden in his arms but I felt familiar with him. I stepped towards him.
Then a girl appeared. "Huh... That's me..."
That was the younger me, I saw in my previous dreams. She went close to him and sat close to him.
The younger me calmed him down and put a bandage on his wound. The boy soon stopped crying. They both introduced themselves to each other.
The boy told me his name was Li while the younger me told her name was Mi.
"Wait a second, isn't it what Lin told me? Is that boy Lin?", I went after them.
All of a sudden they disappeared. I looked around but they were not there. I kept on searching and then everything began to change.
The day turned into night, the night into day and then the whole seasons began to change within the blink of an eye. Then the time came to normal.
It seemed to be spring. Everywhere in the area flowers had bloomed. The place looked so full of life.
"Mi Mi come with me, hurry", I heard a boy's voice.
Then I saw a boy followed by the younger me but this time the younger me was a bit older than the previous me that appeared earlier.
The boy is probably Lin, he looks a lot like him. He was holding the hand of the younger me.
He then took her to a flower bed.
"Mia close your eyes, I have some surprise for you", he squatted down when she closed her eyes.
He picked a flower wreath from the flower bed and stood up. There was an excited smile face on his face.
After putting the wreath on her head he held both of her hands, "Mi Mi, you can open your eyes."
The younger me slowly opened her eyes, "Li Li where is my surprise?"
Lin smiled, "On your head."
She took off the wreath and smiled happily, "Put it back on my head."
He put that back and grabbed her hands again, "Mi Mi, do you like it?"
She stared at him and then nodded, "I love it."
Lin took a deep breath, "Mia, there is something else that I had prepared for you as your birthday gift."
She excitedly asked, "What is it?"
He smiled at her excited face, "You once told me that you want to be like those princesses in those stories. So, I want to make you a princess in real life. Mi Mi you really are a princess in my life. Like in those stories where a prince comes to rescue the princess, you as the princess came to rescue me."
The younger me laughed, "So, you are saying I am your prince."
He laughed, "You can say that. By the way, the thing I prepared for you is a dance. The couple dance that the prince and princess do at the parties in the stories."
She became excited, "Really, can we do that dance?"
Lin smiled and nodded. He put one hand on his shoulder and held the other in his hand. He put his other hand on her back, "Now, follow my instructions."
She smiled brightly and nodded.
They both began to dance. They looked like a sweet young couple. All of a sudden there was a blast.
Everything disappeared. Then I saw Lin who was walking away from me. I went after him but he kept on walking away.
"Lin, wait for me...", I shouted and ran after him.
The closer I got close to him the further away he would get. He then disappeared.
I stumbled on something and fell. There was no one there. Everything became dark. I cried and called for Lin but there was no response.
"Lin... Lin....", I kept calling out his name.
"Mia...", I heard Lin's voice.
I looked around but didn't find him.
"Lin...Lin...", I called his name again.
"Mia...", I heard his voice again.
I looked around again.
"Mia....calm down I am here with you", the voice came and my eyes flew open.
My face was soaked in tears. It was as if I had cried a lot. Lin was sitting next to me holding my hand.
"Mia, you finally woke up", Lin said looking at me.
He helped me sit and then gave me a glass of water. I drank the water and then looked around.
There was a sharp pain in my head, "Ahhh..."
"Mia, are you.....", Lin was saying something but I couldn't hear him.
The pain became stronger. When I closed my eyes, I saw different glimpses of me and Lin together when I was the same age as in the dream.
"Mia, answer me...", Lin's voice became clear.
I opened my eyes. The pain in my head was gone.
More tears began to flow out of my eyes and I hugged Lin. He was probably shocked by my behavior.
Lin didn't say anything and began to comfort me. He put one hand on my head and the other on my back.
"Mia, are you alright?", he asked rubbing my back.
I got back from him and looked down at my hands, "I am sorry. I shouldn't have behaved like that."
He grabbed my face and lifted it, "It's ok, we are friends. Aren't we?"
I nodded and then looked into his eyes, "We are indeed friends, Li Li."
Lin smiled, "Then you shouldn't worry about misbehaving or something like that."
He seemed to realize something and then stared at me for a while, "Wait a second, what did you just called me?"
I smiled and hugged him, "Li Li."
