Helena spent a couple days like that in the crystal cavern testing her abilities. She finally figured out how to limit the output of her magic so it wasn't so large and draining to use. Finally she was ready to move on from this place.
As Helena walked out of the cave the suns were shining high in the sky and a cool breeze surrounded her. She smiled and couldn't contain her joy at being able to control her newfound magic power even if only a little bit.
"Hey Night, where should I go from here?.... Night?
He must be taking a break? I'm sure it will be fine to go ahead since he can find me." But unbeknownst to Helena, she had two pairs of eyes that were staring at her.
She hasn't even walked more than a couple minutes before even she could feel the stares on her.
Helena looked around trying to find the source of the stares but wasn't successful. There weren't very many places for whatever was staring at her to be. There was the mountain behind her and a slight field of flowers in front of her with only that Forest beyond that.
Something in the air felt off. Something was very wrong, the cool breeze suddenly felt ice cold and chilled her to the bone. Fear was building in her the longer she couldn't find the source of the stare.
Suddenly Night spoke up and snapped her out of it and she calmed down a little. He asked what she was doing and was she ready to move on. Helena quickly called out to Night and asked him to see what was around them because something was definitely very very wrong. Night did as Helena asked him but he couldn't see anything dangerous in the immediate vicinity and told her as much. Even hearing his assurance that everything is okay around them she knew it wasn't and something was watching her.
Helena put up her guard and refused to lower it. Night was guiding her forward but she could sense that whatever was staring at her before was following her now but for some reason night couldn't see it as a dangerous being. The ice cold air never lessened no matter how far she walked.
They were halfway down the field of flowers in between both the forest and the mountain when she noticed that the guide Stone was moving more toward the mountain and she would need to climb onto the rocky surface.
The moment Helena took a step onto the mountain it seemed like the mountain itself rejected her. Everything was clouded in white in a mere moment. There was a blizzard out of nowhere aimed directly at her, and she had no way to stop it because by the time she realized it she was already on the ground.
Lying in the flower field while covered in snow Helena could faintly hear Nights voice calling out for her to run away.
--A flicker of fear ignited inside of him when he saw an instance of immediate danger around Sky before it disappeared and was normal once again. It finally hit him, how could he be so stupid? She said there was something dangerous and he didn't believe Sky's instincts. How could he forget that certain monsters could hide themselves from the guide stone purely with their own strength. Just because they were rare didn't mean they didn't exist!
If this was one of those Sky was going to die... He would lose this person because of his own blunder. Night kept calling out to sky when his fears were realized. The guide stone stopped working... that could only mean that the pressure emitted from this monster was from a Top class monster.
Night didn't know where sky was or else he would have ran to help her. Now he could only wait for news of her death. He felt numb.. Why was Sky's death effecting him so much. Night could only wait and think about what he could have done differently.--
Helena felt pain in her shoulder from how she fell and hit the ground. She tried to pick herself up she when felt something really heavy push her shoulder back down into the ground. She felt claws digging into her shoulder. The pain was awful but she knew she needed to get away so she snapped her eyes open to see what was inflicting this pain onto her. Helena was hoping and praying to see a way out of this predicament.
Amidst the pain Helena was incredibly surprised to see this monster that was pinning her down. She had never seen such a monster before. It towered over her and was at least three times as large as herself. Helena quickly noticed the black smoke coming from this creature.
This monster looked very beautiful. It was definitely a large cat but it also wasn't. It looked like it was made of crystals. Every hair of this long haired feline were tiny crystals clinking against one another. It looked soft but the paw on her shoulder was cutting into her even without it's claws. It's a wonder how this creature even moves. Helena didn't have much time to think such thoughts though as the claws dug deeper into her shoulder.
She cried out in pain, while it's red eyes seemed to grow more angry as it heard her cries. Just as the monster was leaning down to bite her to end the shrill screams this human was producing , was when a voice called out and told her to attack back and survive. The Feline flinched and let go of a little bit of pressure on Helena's shoulder.
Instantly Helena used the spell that saved her from the Monster Gale with all of her strength. [Bind]This time she felt the winds against her skin because she was in such close proximity to the monster. The wind was gentle and didn't hurt at all, but she could see the same wind slicing this creature from all directions.
Blood drenched her clothes as the creature backed off from her she realized that it hadn't just flinched away from her when she heard a familiar voice ring out. "You are the first human I have met that didn't chase me to kill me. I will offer this life to you since you have saved it once already. Live on kind human.."
It was the jeweled snake, and it had jumped onto the Crystal Feline and bit it so hard it harmed itself by biting it.
The large monster retreated after a large amount of smoke left it's body through its wounds. Helena thought it would be like the Creatures from the Monster Gale and be stuck within this wind. But to her surprise it ripped through the rock wall like exterior and broke her spell to pieces. It ran away and was gone just as quickly as it appeared. Even the air was back to normal.
Then all that was left was Just Helena and an egg that was encased in jewels. Even the egg was beautiful. She brought the egg up to her forehead "Thank you snake, I truly appreciate what you did for me."
Helena smeared the blood from herself onto the egg and she gave it a name. She wanted to awaken the egg and let this snake live again but it refused to hatch. Unsure of what to do for it,in the end she decided to put it in her storage pouch.
She finished cleaning her wounds and smearing some of the healing ointment Evania gave her on her shoulder. As soon as she finished changing her clothes the guide stone started working again.
Was that someone crying?
I was curious of your thoughts on my story, and if anyone was watching for the updates.
I hope you have a wonderful day today either way!
