Roar!!!!
The zombie at the very front pounced on the woman, clasping her tightly. Despair filled her eyes. She was less than ten meters away from the roller-door, but it might as well have been as unreachable as the sky for her.
Her pupils contracted. The zombie's movement seemed to slow down in her eyes as it pounced on her. She felt close to death, as scenes from her past life flashed across her mind.
Boom!
A loud noise rang out, and the woman snapped back to reality. The zombie that had been pouncing toward her was knocked away by a shopping chair that flew out of nowhere. She scrambled to her feet, gurgling.
Roar, roar!!
She saw a zombie not far from her right side roaring at her, but it didn't chase her. The zombie that had initially pounced on her was knocked away, but there was still a horde out there!
Tang Ye didn't have time to think about anything else, he rushed toward the zombies, his feet stomping on the ground.
The woman blinked in surprise, this zombie seemed a little different. But there was no time for second thoughts. She quickly grabbed several bags of snacks scattered on the floor and dashed toward the roller-door.
The power behind Tang Ye's shove was not insignificant. He knocked down five or six zombies, and the zombies following behind tripped over their fallen comrades, giving the woman a chance to flee.
The zombies had neither intelligence nor emotions. The zombies that were knocked down sprang back up, continuing to chase the woman without showing any signs of anger towards Tang Ye.
There were too many zombies, dozens at least. The woman was only a couple steps away from the nearest zombie. Tang Ye was at his wit's end. Even after having dealt with one zombie, the remaining horde was still closing in. He had no choice but to keep his distance.
Tang Ye looked at the woman. He realized that even if she entered the roller-door, she might not have the time to close it. So, he decided to follow her.
The woman rushed into the roller-door, dumping the snacks onto the ground willy-nilly, and reached out to pull the roller-door down!
Splash...
The door was halfway down when it was obstructed by a pair of grey-white hands!
Roar, roar!!
The owner of these hands was the zombie who had just pounced on her. Her face hardened in despair, noticing more zombies chasing her and getting closer. Their grotesque and horrifying faces gritted their teeth at her!
She pressed hard against the door, but her strength was no match for the zombie. The second zombie was close by too. But just when she was about to give up, something unexpected happened. The second zombie did not help its peer to force the door open, instead, it kicked away the zombie holding the door open.
Tang Ye glanced at the zombie that had taken another hit from him. He saw the woman's face and smiled at her. His already fearsome face looking even more terrifying at that moment.
The woman screamed in fright, screaming loudly!
"Get away from me!" she shouted, picking up an abandoned mop stick and swinging it at Tang Ye!
Tang Ye's smile froze on his face, and he began to roar!
Dammit! There's no gratitude in rescuing people, really...
Tang Ye stood up straight and slammed down the roller-door with one foot. He looked over at the group of zombies rushing towards him, hurriedly darting away, worried they would hit him.
Boom, boom, boom!
The zombies ran to the roller-door and began hitting it, trying to pull it open, but the door was locked from the inside by the woman. They couldn't open it no matter how hard they tried!
Tang Ye, standing nearby, was eyeing the various types of food with regret. This food was no longer of any use to him, but there was nothing he could do about it. Who asked him to become a zombie? But being a zombie was not bad, he didn't have to live in fear every day. Tang Ye found a clean spot, sat down, leaning on a merchandise rack. He took out his phone, connected to the mobile data, and the connection was still viable. He opened the humor app, Pippi Gag.
It was full of distress calls and various videos of real-time zombie encounters. He couldn't see any funny videos at all anymore. He posted a comment in a random thread, saying: "What if I say I've turned into a zombie, the kind that doesn't bite?"
Tang Ye got bored even before he finished his post. Three days had passed, and the government had yet to release any rescue information. It was possible they had their own problems to deal with!
The zombies that had been banging on the roller-door for so long noticed the silence inside and gradually dispersed. But Tang Ye continued to stare blankly at the roller-door.
There was someone inside. A woman... she's right inside... inside the roller-door...
Roar...ha roo~ he~
Should I go in... and say hello to the woman? …I did save... her, and she... she still hit me... I need to clarify things with her... or... eat... eat her!
Tang Ye suddenly felt a jolt, and his body began to shiver. He stared blankly at his surroundings. What was he thinking just now? He was startled by the thought that had unexpectedly surfaced in his mind!
What's going on!
Tang Ye felt flustered. He raised a hand to his chest, unsure of what was happening. Why would he think such things? He tried to suppress the thought, trying not to think about it. But the more he tried not to think about it, the more it re-surfaced in his mind!
Eat her, hurry up and eat her! Use something to break the door! Go in and eat her! It will be delicious...
"Roar!!!" Tang Ye roared, his mind filled with terrifying thoughts that circled around him like a persistent spell!
Tang Ye felt incredibly hungry, his throat was tight, his skin itchy and unbearable. He vowed he had never felt this kind of terrifying hunger before. Even when he had gone without food for three days in his rented room, he had never felt as ravenous as he did now! His brain kept signaling him that he needed to eat meat!
He frantically threw his phone at a wall, shattering it on impact. Tang Ye then looked at the shopping cart he had used to tackle the zombie just moments before.
Pick it up, break down this roller-door, I need... to eat meat!
Tang Ye slowly stood up, his gangly limbs awkwardly moving him toward the shopping cart. His wrists and fingers had become very strong after becoming a zombie, but his biceps were pitifully weak, he couldn't lift anything too heavy. He grabbed the handle of the shopping cart and forcefully swung it towards the roller-door!
Roar!!
Boom!
Stop... don't eat humans! Tang Ye! Damn you, stop!
Tang Ye seemed to realize what he was doing. He stopped in his tracks, roaring loudly. He felt he needed to eat something!
But what could he eat? He could only eat meat! Any meat was fine, as long as it wasn't human flesh! That's it! Beef! Pork! Mutton, these were all meat, he needed to eat, he had to eat!
Tang Ye dashed towards the meat section in the supermarket like a madman!
Here it is! Here it is! Meat! Beef! I can eat this can't I? Human flesh is meat, so are beef and pork, why can't I eat that?
Once Tang Ye reached the meat section, he knocked down the zombies dressed in supermarket work clothes, grabbed a piece of beef and tore off the cling film before starting to chew.
