บท 8: Swordsman of The Mist- I
The mission was for lack of a better word.. too easy.
Might Duy was clearly over qualified for the job and the bandits weren't even strong.
"Things are going a bit too smoothly.." I sighed.
Nothing was allowed to be good in this world. I felt like something really bad was about to happen.
=== Scene Break ===
I was currently organising the tools I was to use in my next mission. My progress had been halted due to reasons outside my control and it pissed me off.
The reason? Simple, Time.
That one eyed freak gave me assignments all the freaking time.
"Izayo!" I heard a voice. "Yeah.. coming." I said.
The leaf was going to make the first act of aggression against the mist in their own land.
My mission was pretty damn simple. "Gather information."
I sighed. Such vague instructions were the most difficult to fulfil.
As I saw my comrades for the current mission I was somewhat surprised.
On the left was a shady guy wearing sunglasses and having messy hair. He was probably from the clan that controls insects.
The others were the most surprising. In the middle left there was a young man with black hair and a scar in his forehead. He wore the signature uchiha attire with a black vest instead of the military clothing.
That privilege was only afforded to the clan heads and the clan heirs of the major clans.
So, it meant he was the heir of the uchiha clan.. but there was another problem with this.. assertion.
He wasn't Fugaku. Why? because Fugaku was right beside him.
From my previous life I know Fugaku was supposed to be the patriarch of the uchiha.. Then who the hell was this guy.
A political coup sounds unlikely.. so it means that guy will die.. and moreover, he will die in this war since otherwise I would have known him or atleast.. heard of him.
Well my mind went wondering again.. get back to the situation at hand.
"I am Miyazaki Uchiha, a Jonin and I will be leading the mission. I will be the main close combat fighter." The guy proclaimed.
"I am Shinzo Aburame, a jonin, and I will be the lead sensor of the mission." The shady guy declared.
"My name is Fugaku Uchiha, a special Jonin. I will provide long range support with shurikenjutsu and ninjutsu." Fugaku said.
"My name's Hikaru Nara. I will be the lead strategist and the co-leader for this mission." A guy said lazily.
"My name's Mikoto Uchiha, chunin. I specialise in kenjutsu and genjutsu." The girl beside me said.
A chunin was very impressive considering that she was about my age, maybe a year older.
"Name's Izayo Hinode, chunin, I will be the secondary sensor." I introduced myself and my role.
There were two others but they didn't catch my eye and both of them were medics.
With that the mission began…
I also understood why Danzo gave such vague instructions.. since this squad had both the heir to the uchiha and the genius of the uchihia, he wanted to show their incompetence..
But why was I here? I didn't do anything to offend Danzo, did I? Then why the hell would he put me here.
== Scene break ==
Our unit was moving through the dense rainforest towards the land of waves through which we will reach Kiri.
The group was mostly quiet. It wasn't uncomfortable though as the peaceful sound of the critters in the rainforest was quite pleasing.
"So.." one of the medics dared to break the silence. "How do we 'gather information'?" The medic girl said.
"I'll do you one better, what does "gather information" actually mean?" The medic boy asked.
The leader ignored their question and the co-leader was too lazy to do anything.
I understood though, they probably knew their situation.. I bet the leader is boiling inside.
My sense picked up someone in our right. I slowly clapped my hands,this regained everyone's attention, as the squad got in position.
Shinzo sent his bugs to clarify who the person was. While I felt he was approaching us too fast.
Whoever he was, he definitely knew where we were and was pursuing us.
"It.." Shinzo whispered.. "It is a guy. He is wearing an anbu mask of the mist, so I can't infer further."
"Only one guy?!" The medic boy said. "That doesn't sound right."
Slowly enough the guy was in view. He wielded a long needle like sword strapped along his back.
"One of the seven swordsmen of the mist." Fugaku said as he grabbed two kunai in either prepared for combat.
"It seems I have made a miscalculation.." The swordsman spoke.
"Oh well. It does not matter." The man readied his sword. As I felt other chakra signatures rapidly approaching.
"This was a trap.." The leader, Miyazaki said.
"And we fell for it." I continued.
There were 4 jonins including the swordsman, 2 special jonins and 3 chunins.
'This is bad.' I thought.
*Bang* The swordsman charged towards us. Miyazaki also rushed towards the swordsman.
*Cling* The sound of their swords colliding was heard as the swordsman made full use of the needle and thread-like properties of his sword.
'Kinda reminds me of Hornet from Hollow knight.' I thought.
I didn't have enough time to indulge in my thoughts though as one of the special jonin rushed towards me.
The battle was decided, Miyazaki will fight the swordsman. The two medics will take care of two Chunins. Shinzo and Hikaru will team up on two other jonins, Fugaku fought another jonin and Mikoto and I were left to take care of the two special jonin and a random chunin.
The special jonin who used a sword fought head on with Mikito who used her own sword. While the one who primarily relied on ninjutsu fought me with the chunin acting as his guard.

I dodged a barrage of water bullets and countered with my own kunai. The fight was in a standstill.. but I was running out of kunai.
Change of plans.. I took all the tagged kunai I had and threw it all at once towards the pair.
The special jonin quickly got away but it was to late for the chunin who was consumed by the wall of explosions.
*Boom* *Boom* *Boom*
"Yeah no way he survived that." I said, looking at the resulting crater which had a burnt corpse inside.
"But I lost too many resources on that." I said as I rushed towards the other guy who was.. running away?
I chased after the guy. The guy looked back and abruptly changed his direction to where Mikoto was fighting.
I was about to throw a kunai but realised I didn't have any left.
The fight was chaotic but I wasn't really worried.. I mean my chidori was still a one time use- delete button for anyone here other than the swordsman and I still had my summon hidden.
The special jonin I was chasing suddenly made hand signs and a huge water bullet rushed towards Mikoto and the other guy she was fighting.
Both of them backed off as the bullet missed both of them completely but both the special jonins reunited.
I see.. one of them doesn't have any close combat capabilities while the other does not have long range weapons.
So sticking together would be the best for them.
Mikoto also backed off considering the pair was too much for her to fight alone.
"You are good at genjutsu right?" I asked.
"Ye- yes?" Mikoto replied.
"Good, how long do you think you can fool them for?" I asked.
"Well, It depends on what you want me to do." She replied.
"Well.."

Miyazaki parried the erratic movements of the strange looking blade.
He had been constantly fighting with this guy with his shurikens and fire ninjutsu.
If it wasn't for his three tomoe sharingan he would have died already.
He was worried.. not only for himself but also his sister who he agreed to bring on this mission.
How was she? Was she okay? These thoughts were going through his mind right now.. a horrible time for those thoughts.
"Damn that Danzo, If I meet him again.. I'll.. i'll.." His rage was through the roof.
His eyes naturally amplified his already overwhelming rage.
In his rage he forgot to notice certain changes.. that were happening to his eyes.
==A/N==
Sorry for the huge delay.
In my country in one specific grade we have to have classes for 14 hours straight with just three 45 minute breaks in between, so I can't find much time to write..
But.. writing calms me from all this unnecessary pressure that is given to all students my age. So I will continue writing.. but I lack time so updates will be rare for the next 3 months.
