บท 51: Chapter 51: Breaking Bonds

Wind rushed past her face as she plummeted down, straight toward the hard marble floor. “‘Glirima!’” she screamed.

She halted just before she hit the floor, the marble so close it was nearly touching her nose. The spell slipped from Vix’s control a moment later and she collapsed heavily on the ground. Her body felt like a wrung-out towel, every muscle shivering uncontrollably.

A great rumble came from the hole beside her. Then a solid mass of Amuul came rocketing out, swarming all around the room. They scrambled around the ceiling for a brief moment, then, as though some order had been given, they rushed as one through the cracked hole where the iron door had stood.

Vix pushed herself up on trembling arms. The Amuul had come and gone in the blink of an eye. The room was completely empty, now, save for Caine, still lying where he had fallen against the wall. A sharp relief went through Vix to see him still in one piece.
