บท 225: The rogue mages

Alexis could not believe what he was hearing. 

"I am the Crown Prince of the Gretenberg Sovereignty! How come I cannot even have my people follow my orders…"

He was speechless.

"Your Majesty, please, I'm only a little man doing what was asked of me," he begged. "Lady Savine keeps my whole family fed, I can't possibly disobey her orders."

Hearing the man talking about how following Savine's orders, Alexis's rage quelled a bit. Savine did say that she was intentionally making life harder for the slaves. 

'This man snapping the whip also has no other choice…'

"It's just two kids, aren't they?" Alexis tried to convince him. "Two missing won't be an issue, no?"

The overseer, however, was acting too panicked. He looked around all over, before he immediately fell on the ground, kneeling towards Alexis.

"Y-Your Majesty… Please spare my little life. B-but I daren't disobey Lady Savine orders! Please be understanding."
