บท 27: (The Heiress)

Russell James, known to the world as Eagle, the most notorious villain, sat perched on his throne-like chair in his hidden Manhattan mansion. He surveyed the verdant landscape outside through the glass walls of his opulent room, a glass of fine wine held delicately in his hand, reflecting the golden hues of the setting sun. The strike of gray hairs, more prominent than ever, and a slight gauntness in his frame, hinted at the toll his illness was taking. Despite his failing health, he still exuded an aura of power, his black tuxedo and black blazer, covering a crisp white shirt, making him appear more like a successful entrepreneur than a criminal mastermind.

"It was a girl, not a boy, Boss," announced Donovan Clarkson, his most trusted man. Donovan, a striking figure with blonde hair, piercing blue eyes, and a physique honed by years of training, stood behind his employer, his hands tucked into the pockets of his black trousers. He was dressed in a crisp blue t-shirt that mirrored the color of his eyes, a stark contrast to the darkness that surrounded them.

"I tracked the woman, but unfortunately, she passed away several years ago. Her child, a girl, is still alive," Donovan reported, his voice tinged with a hint of seriousness.

A wry chuckle escaped Eagle's lips. "You're a lucky man, Donovan. It's clear as day now that you're destined to be the next leader, the one to sit on this throne."

Donovan's face blanched. He hadn't intended to hear such pronouncements, but Eagle's words hung heavy in the air. "I have no desire to steal your position, Boss. I respect you like a father," he replied, his voice laced with genuine sincerity. He had always been loyal to Eagle, seeing him as a mentor, a guiding force in his life.

"I knew it, Don. I've raised you well. You're a respectful man, indeed," Eagle chuckled again, his brown eyes twinkling with amusement. He had always been a master manipulator, a puppeteer pulling the strings of those around him. "We're already searching for her, and she'll be in our hands soon. You've read the files on her, her background. She's been caught up in a whirlwind of trouble lately, but we'll find her."

Donovan, his mind preoccupied with the task at hand, simply nodded.

"That's right, Don. You need to find her quickly and marry her. Satan's been eager to meet me. They're preparing a grand banquet in hell, just for my arrival," Eagle declared, his laughter turning into a fit of coughing as he choked on his wine. His words, though laced with dark humor, revealed the fear that lurked beneath the surface. He knew his time was running out, and he was desperate to secure his legacy.

"Please, stop saying that," Donovan pleaded, his voice laced with concern. "The doctor said you need to stop drinking wine. It's only going to make your condition worse. Let me take that glass from you."

He reached for the wine glass, but Eagle stopped him with a wave of his hand. "No, Don, it's alright. It's important to savor these fine wines while I can. I wonder if they have Château Lafite-Rothschild in hell."

Donovan shook his head, a look of worry etched on his face. "I'll find her, Boss. I promise you that. Stay alive until then."

With those words, Donovan vanished from the room, leaving Eagle to his thoughts and his wine. He knew he had to trust Donovan, to rely on his loyalty and his skills. He had chosen him for a reason, and he believed Donovan would deliver.

"Alright, alright," Eagle muttered, a faint smile playing on his lips. He knew he was playing a dangerous game, a game with high stakes and even higher risks. But he was Eagle, the most feared villain in the world. He had overcome every obstacle, every challenge, in his path. He would find his daughter, he would bend her to his will, and he would ensure his legacy lived on. He would make sure that his name, his power, would be remembered for generations to come.

Eagle, the world's most notorious syndicate , was facing his own mortality. Diagnosed with lung cancer, he had only a year to live according to the doctors. The weight of his past and present crimes and the horror he would further do, the pain he inflicted on millions, was heavy on his heart but he's not having any remorse about it.

He cannot deny the fact that he was born evil and die evil.

He knew he had to find an heir, someone to carry on his legacy, someone to inherit his vast criminal empire.

His daughter, a girl he had never met, was his only option. He hadn't even held her in his arms, never been a part of her life. She was a pawn in his grand scheme, a tool to secure his legacy, a means to an end. He had a plan, a twisted, desperate plan. He would find her, force her to accept her role, to become the new face of his empire.

He knew his daughter was out there, somewhere in the world, living a life he had never been a part of. He had a network of spies, informants, and enforcers who could track her down. He would use his resources, his wealth, his power, to find her. He would use every dirty trick in the book, every underhanded tactic, to locate her. He would leave no stone unturned, no trace of her existence unexplored.

He would use Donovan Clarkson, a man he had long admired for his ruthlessness and cunning, to ensure his daughter's compliance. Donovan, with his vast network and influence, would be the perfect puppet master, guiding his daughter through the treacherous waters of power. He would be her guardian, her mentor, her overlord.

But a flicker of doubt, a whisper of fear, crept into his mind. What if she refused? What if she saw through his facade, recognized the monster he truly was? What if she chose a different path, a path of redemption, a path that rejected the darkness he had embraced?

The thought sent a shiver down his spine, a cold, clammy dread that tightened his chest. He had spent his life controlling everything, everyone, but now, he was losing control. His time was running out, and the clock was ticking. He had to act, and act quickly. He had to secure his legacy, even if it meant sacrificing everything he held dear.

But there's nothing really is important to him, but his power.

He knew this wouldn't be easy. His daughter might resist. She might fight back. But he was Eagle, and he will have everything he aimed to. He had overcome every obstacle, every challenge, in his path. He would find his daughter, he would bend her to his will, and he would ensure his legacy lived on. He would make sure that his name, his power, would be remembered for generations to come.
