บท 60: An Eventful night

Banxi Pavilion, Liqiu's room.

Xiaolian pulled the basket of clothes up as she got to the room door, the brothel was an hour away from opening.

She smiled at the maid cleaning the flower vase a short distance away from Liqiu's room door. There was no change to the maid's expression, she just nodded and carried on with her job.

Xiaolian turned back to the door and frowned, she counted to three before entering the room. "Liqiu", she called as she walked passed the receiving room.

She dropped the baskets by the screen covering the sleeping chamber and walked around the screen. She pursed her lips as she came upon Liqiu seated by the open window.

"It has been a week Liqiu, you cannot keep doing this. Madam would not want you to wallow in self-pity. You have to prepare for today's performance".

Liqiu looked away from the window and sighed, she had fallen into a lifeless routine ever since she found her mentor dead.
