As soon as Yuan Jianjun appeared in the doorway, he felt sweat fall down his neck.
"Yuan Jianjun greets senior," said Yuan Jianjun as he bowed to Xu Yue, causing Xu Yue to look at him for the first time.
Looking at the young man before her, Xu Yue couldn't help but let out a small laugh.
"You don't have to be so formal," said Xu Yue as she looked at the two cultivators in front of her with a smile on her face.
"Get up," said Meng Lin as she pushed Yuan Jianjun's chest back up straight.
Looking at how Meng Lin touched Yuan Jianjun, and how little reaction he had, a smile appeared on Xu Yue's face.
"So is this the Dao Companion you found little girl," asked Xu Yue as she remembered the young and innocent Meng Lin she met some time ago, or rather, two thousand years ago.
"Yes, why don't you come in and talk," bluntly said Meng Ling as brought Yuan Jianjun closer to her, causing a smile to appear on Xu Yue's face.
...
"Your formations are really quite peculiar," said Xu Yue as she sat down at a table inside of the house as four cups of tea appeared at the table.
"I just made some adjustments to the ordinary formations, it's nothing more," said Meng Lin as she waved her hands in front of her body, as if afraid of Xu Yue thinking otherwise.
"I know, but that's still very much impressive," said Xu Yue as she felt the small fox on her shoulder move.
Just as the fox wanted to jump off Xu Yue's shoulder and onto the table in front of them, Xu Yue's hand rained down upon it, making it unable to escape her shoulder.
"Maybe it is," mumbled Meng Lin as she scratched her face, being still very much excited from meeting the one who had helped her so much back then once again.
"Senior, I didn't have any time to thank you for this," said Meng Lin as she brought out an earth rank flying sword that had been very clearly repaired, the large amount of rust present on it when Xu Yue gave it to Meng Lin disappeared, being replaced by a much sharper edge.
"It's nothing, I wanted to get rid of it in the first place," said Xu Yue as a familiar weird feeling emerged in her stomach.
"But still, I am very much thankful for your help, this sword helped me a lot," said Meng Lin as he touched the edge of the blade with a smile on her face.
Hearing Meng Lin thank her, Xu Yue let out a sigh, but still, that same familiar weird feeling she felt still remained.
"It's that it helped you, leaving it to me would have been a waste," said Xu Yue as everything in the surrounding thirty thousand li appeared in her vision, from the most powerful cultivator to the smalest grain of sand.
At the same time as Xu Yue talked with Meng Lin and Yuan Jianjun, she was also examining the underground world, searching for the weird thing that caught her attention.
As if feeling that the hand petting her was absentminded, the little fox on Xu Yue's shoulder turned towards Xu Yue's neck before giving it a lick, causing Xu Yue to stop what she was doing.
After doing this, the fox seemed satisfied, as it then went back to sitting in a circle and sleeping while enjoying Xu Yue's fingers.
Merely a few moments after this distraction, Xu Yue finished searching underground and once again went to another way of searching, a more difficult and surefire way.
Unlike usual, when Xu Yue would just use the Dao of Fate to search for something, right now, Xu Yue decided to use divination as a way to enhance the power of her vision.
Suddenly, Xu Yue was dumbfounded, she did not face any barriers that could restrict her divination, nor did she find some hidden secret, rather, Xu Yue saw absolutely nothing.
"What have you been up to recently, senior?" asked Meng Lin, unaware that her voice woke Xu Yue up from her stupor.
"Nothing much, I'm just traveling right now," said Xu Yue as she continued her search even though she did not find anything divination.
Just as Xu Yue began continuing her search, she suddenly realized why that weird feeling was somewhat familiar.
"Existence," mumbled Xu Yue in an extremely low voice, so low in fact, almost no sound came out at all, causing Meng Lin to come up in surprise.
"You said something senior?" asked Meng Lin as she looked at Xu Yue with an inquisitive expression on her face.
"Nothing, you can carry on," said Xu Yue as she stopped using her spiritual sense, and only began navigating by instinct.
"This is it," thought Xu Yue as she looked at the weird existence that seemed to be shrouded by a mask, but as soon as Xu Yue saw that mask, it finally began to lose effect.
As soon as that happened, Yuan Jianjun's Qi Refining cultivation base suddenly disappeared from Xu Yue's eyes, being replaced by something else, something completely foreign, a foreign cultivation system.
In a mere moment, Xu Yue realized what was happening.
"That should be the effect of an artifact above Saint Grade and below the level of Immortal artifacts, since it could make basic use of existence," thought Xu Yue as she knew that she was nowhere near powerful enough to see through the illusions of a True Immortal artifact.
As soon as Xu Yue saw through the artifact, several divinations began taking place every second, in a few seconds, things that would take decades or even centuries to do for normal diviners were done by Xu Yue, using the Dao of Fate, Xu Yue couldn't even be called a diviner, as her abilities surpassed those of diviners in every single way.
After understanding what the artifact was doing, Xu Yue quickly realised something, she couldn't divine existence, at least not yet.
