บท 149: Mutually assured destruction

Ivo felt displaced in the club, as if he was naked while everyone else was wearing clothes. He usually felt that way, with his absence of any visible mods, but it was much worse here, where everyone's mods were so extreme.

To their credit, none of the patrons were looking at him or Alina, although they stuck out like a sore thumb.

"How did you even find this place?" Ivo asked, raising his voice above the music to make himself heard. 

Alina's body was covered in colourful, vivid tattoos, but as far as mods went, hers were minimal. It just didn't make sense that she would hang around a place like this.

"I used to go out with a girl that came here often." Her eyes scanned the crowd, and then she chuckled, pointing in a direction over Ivo's shoulder. "Actually, there she is."
