I continue explaining to Felicia, "Because these race cars are built for race tracks and not ordinary roads, they are not street legal.
"When a car is declared street legal, it simply means that the auto complies with all the automotive-related laws and regulations pertinent to a certain area.
"These laws and regulations can differ from one area to another. What seems to be legal here in Atlanta may be illegal in, say, Tennessee.
"And I don't need to repeat myself. You're thinking of getting a used race car to get through the streets, roads, and highways everyday.
"As with every other car out there, this car you will buy must comply with local automotive laws."
Felicia just resigns. "Yes, I understand. I get too excited on certain models, that I sometimes forget the work that must be done to make my eventual choice safe for the roads."
