When he stepped inside the office, he was expecting to see the stern face of the Müller Stephan - Camp Leader, the man in charge of the Munich Hitler Youth brigade. Instead, he saw a familiar figure from his past sitting behind the desk, wearing a wet trench coat and round Safari hat.
"Hans, my boy, it's good to see you again. It's me, in flesh and blood; don't stand there like you have seen a ghost." The voice was definitely of his professor, no doubt about that.
Hans overcame his shock at seeing the Professor in his Camp Leader's office. He straightened himself and forced a smile on his face.
"Professor Leon Max?" Hans exclaimed, unable to hide his surprise. Of all the people he expected to see, the Professor was not one of them. "What are you doing here?"
The Professor looked up and smiled, revealing his cigar-stained teeth. He gestured for Hans to sit down on a chair opposite him.
