The alarm clock at the head of the bed began to ring, Derren's eyelids twitched, and then he opened his eyes, groggily reaching with his hand toward the bedside table on his right.

He found the alarm clock, pressed it down, and stopped the ringing, Derren then closed his eyes again, laid back down, and turned over with a yawn.

Derren wanted to snooze for a bit longer, but soon after, his nose twitched, and then he suddenly opened his eyes.
