I huffed a low sigh, not sure how to approach that question. If Rose gave me this book to guilt me out it was certainly working on her behalf and for Kai's favor.
Honestly, I was looking on how to find a way to not be Kai's mate. Like I've read in those werewolf novels, they always reject each other. Of course, most of them end up back together but that's beside the point I'm trying to make. There has to be some way I can reject Kai and be free from him.
"I'll be back, I need something to snack on," Rose closed her romance book and tried to stand up when she held her pregnant belly.
Aside from her, Rome was nice enough to offer her his arm to help her stand up. Being at least six months pregnant she was certainly showing but still she had no water weight. Once up, she then strides out and left across the room. Which left me here alone with Rome.
"What's on your mind, Princess?" Rome raised this deviant brow at me from the recipe chef book he was reading. Yeah, there is absolutely nothing weird about a vampire reading a human's cookbook.
Pass the book in his hands, I looked at him and asked. "Are there any other informational books about vampires, I can read? Rose gave me this one but it's only about the love a vamp baby has for its parents."
Firstly, Rome kinda chuckled at me before he stood up and set the book down on his chair. "Sure let me find that for you, Princess."
In hardly a blink of an eye, he was gone before my sight. Throughout the library, I hear fast scurrying noises and books being shuffled from shelves here and there. Between high on the second floor and below where I am, I hear him moving about unseen no differently than a ghost. So I knew Rome was being quite productive to find me something else to read.
This huge windy gush whisked by and I jumped back when Rome appeared right in front of me. Having a different book in his hand. "Try this one out," Rome said when he handed me the book. I took the book and saw it was information about vampires.
"I think this will do," I acclaimed before I sat back down on the rug and Rome sat in the chair. Other than me flipping through the pages again. We both remained quiet and focused on the books we were reading.
I skimmed through and found there were many different breeds of vampires. From chameleons that could change their face and voice to look and sound like someone else of the same gender. Lights that were the gentlest and sweetest of their Kind. Predatory vampires are considered the most deadliest and likely dangerous type, especially with humans. Hunters that like the game of the hunt with their prey: meaning humans... I tried not to gulp too loudly reading those entries.
Shapeshifters could turn into some kinda animal like a wolf, a lion, a bear, a cougar, or something else that was on top of the animal food chain. Which was pretty interesting to read, I thought, and flipped through another page about different kinds of vampires.
Chapter 179 was labeled: The Alphas. The Royal Alpha vampires are the most powerful vampires of their clans within the whole Coven. The Alpha Headmaster was the first vampire to build the Coven by transforming chosen humans and by gathering already birthed vampires and vampiresses to follow him and his chosen mate.
I guess the Coven was everyone altogether blood-related to Alpha Headmaster and the members that follow their lead. So it was kinda like a wolf pack or lion pride, I'm assuming. Then the clans were individual leaders that the members personally worked for that one Royal Alpha over the others in the entire Coven of Royal Alphas.
Also, it states, depending on what generation the Alpha was born from after the Headmaster. Those blood-related Alphas are the most powerful and strongest ones. The script translates from the Headmaster, the first, second, third, fourth, and fifth generation Alphas are the most powerful and wisest leaders compared to their other royal family members.
Also, from out of the Coven members each Alpha has five ranked advisors that are the strongest among other members. They take leadership with the defense to protect the Royals, vampiresses, and the Coven offsprings. Others are only ranked as Guardians.
"Is Kai a Royal Alpha vampire?" I asked Rome since I remember him telling Gabby he was Kai's advisor and bodyguard from his family descendants working for the Collins. Which now makes better sense on what he meant.
"You guessed right, Princess," Rome replied without looking at me.
"So since I am Kai's mate that would make me..."
"Another Queen to our Coven and Clan that follows under Kai's leadership and that baby you carry is either a son or daughter to carry on our Alpha's descendants," Rome finished my sentence.
"What generation is Kai?" I asked in hopes to figure out how old Kai is. Which would also tell me what generation this supposed baby I carry falls under from being related to the Headmaster.
"You'll have to ask him," replied Rome, which was frustrating since nobody will tell me.
Everything I was reading was interesting but it still wasn't what I was looking for. But I didn't give up and kept on reading.
"Something wrong, Princess?" Rome asked me with this mischievous smile that looked very questionable to me.
"Well, I'm still not finding anything I am looking for in this book either," I admitted in a cautious tone.
"Oh, I know what you're looking for," Rome said with this weird crooked smile that made my heart beat twice as fast. "You're looking for information on how to reject, Kai."
I was very shocked that he figured it out and I frowned. "I just can't be a vampiress."
Rome gave me a heartwarming smile. "It's not a big deal, Victoria. If you wanna reject him all you have to do is say your full name and then say the words, I reject you Kai Collin and you're free from being his mate."
I looked at him dumbfounded since I read that in like every single werewolf novel I've ever read. "It's that easy?" I questioned since I didn't believe it.
"Of course, Princess. Kai will have to set you free even if he doesn't reject you," Rome said and his eyes looked truly sad.
