บท 33: Shot #031
I don't know how fast we were going but. I found Merle and Daryl running, not far away.
"You should head back. A herd of walkers were heading our way. It'll be good if you can head back and provide any help if needed." I told them.
"Sophia?" asked Daryl.
"Nyx's got her scent. I will find her. Don't worry." I told them.
Both brothers nodded and left. It seemed useless that I had sent them before, but before there was not a walkers herd, I canceled the search. Didn't even have time to let Rick know since Rick is now my second, though maybe I should look for someone else.
Rick is more passive. Maybe I should have Merle be my second? I guess we'll see later.
Nyx growled, letting me know the scent is closer. How could she have been this far? we were already fucking about two miles away from the road!
I saw fresh footsteps now and by the distance of the prints, she was running, but there aren't other foot prints.
I looked to the side. "Oh scratch that! she is being followed by a bear!?... Hurry, Nyx."
Nyx ran faster and soon I heard the grunting of a tired bears.
Soon, I found the bear standing on two feet in front of someome, I saw pink snickers between the bear's legs which let me know it was Sophia.
"Go." I jumped off Nyx and didn't bother confronting the bear, I grabbed Sophia in my hands and picked her up, before I felt a slash on my back, but it wasn't deep since Nyx had jumped on the bear sending him flying.
*Roar*
The bear knew no fear and stood on two limbs, and roared at Nyx, bearing its teeths at her. Nyx growled and roared loudly at it too.
I looked at Sophia. "Are you okay?"
Sophia looked pale and shocked, she wasn't moving. I pat her head in a circular motion which snapped her out.
"Ah... you like that, huh!" I teased, the girls started crying on my chest.
"Stay behind me, okay?" I told Sophia who nodded obidiently. I stood up, straigh and proud, I wasn't as big as the bear but I had a serious look and a glint on my eyes that made the bear snort.
It went back into four legs and ran at me, Nyx bit him on the neck, and it slowed it down, but the bear shook himself off Nyx powerful bite and with loud woofing.
I widened my eyes suddenly when far in the distance I saw a fat man aimimg his at the bear, if I moved away, then Sophia would be shot.
I clicked my tongue and pushed Sophia away, let the bear jump on me before I hear the shot. I felt a pain that hurt like a bitch inside my guy.
"Fucking bitch, it hurts." I said gritting my teeth, how the fuck did I get shot, am I fucking getting rusty? fought through batallions and I get shot by a fucking fat man?
I moved the dead bear away from me and grunted, I felt wet on my stomach, whether it is from me or the bear I don't know.
I heard Sophia scream, and then the fat man came running towards me, a scared expression on his face. I suddenly felt light head and had to lean on a tree.
My eyelids felt heavy, I looked down and I was bleeding like a fucking virgin bitch!
A pool of blood, how the fuck did he got me this much? I felt something inside me, I grunted and saw the fucking bullet inside, or at least pieces of it.
Nyx roared loudly and jumped on the unknown man. "Nyx! ... stop!" I wheezed out.
The big wolf stopping her powerful bite inches away from the man's neck. I was breathing heaving, I should have worn the fucking bullet proof vest, but how was I supposed to know this would happen? Fucking wallers don't shoot.
I sat by a tree, I saw a walker by the corner of my eye making its way toward me, I grunted ready to kill it, but Nyx had already gone ahead, she snapped the head off it.
I smiled. "Don't eat rotten meat, Nyx. You'll get sick." I said out of nowhere, chuckling. I heard Sophia crying and Nyx whimpering on my side.
The fat man stopped in front of me, sweating as he was running. "I'm so sorry!! Oh God! what do I do!?" he said in panicked.
I winced and stood up, holding my wound with pressure. I want a drink right now. "Do you have... a place nearby?" I asked, tired.
"Y-yes!! we have someone who can take a look at you, he knows!" he said in a panicked voice.
I grabbed his shoulder and unconsciously squeezed it hard. The man cried out in pain.
"Sorry." I said as I let go. "I don't know my strength right now."
"Tell me where your place is? How far?." I asked if it was further away than three miles, then it was best I get back to the group and have someone take care of me, but having someone who knows what he is doing would be better as to not leave an infection, I suck at being a medic, it's the only thing I never learned in military school, well they did tried to teach me, but I wasn't to into it. Probably because I rather go to the beautiful nurses in short skirts.
"It's close! about a mile that way!" he said in a hurrt pointing towards the North, away from the group.
I nodded, I looked down and there was already a pool of blood under me, if I pull out some of the shrads then I'll bleed faster.
Nyx seeing my weaken state and blood, put her head between my legs, she was about to lift me up when I picked Sophia with me. I'm not going to leave her behind with an unknown man.
Sophia yelped. "Sophia, I know you are a small kid but-"
"I will do it! anything, sir. please don't die!" said Sophia about to cry. "It's my fault!!" she sniffed.
I pat het head. "Just press on the wound as hard as you can, I'll start loosing my strength any second now.
"When you get there, ask for Hershel! he'll know what to do!" said the man in a hurry tone, he started running after us, though he was really slow.
