"Is she still asleep?" Qixu's soft voice woke me. For days or weeks -time seemed irrelevant at this point- with System's aid, I lay numb and unwilling to continue on.
When I allowed my mind to think, it only asked, should I also do the same?
"Shh... let her rest a little longer," Ren replied, moving from my side, "how are things in court?"
Qixu groaned, "everything has been shared with the public through those flyers, we can no longer keep them calm. We've confirmed that the West has taken over six towns on the border, only two of them resisted."
"Any news from your brother?"
My eyes fluttered at the mention of Enzo.
"None," Qixu was unable to hide the concern in her tone.
"What about the council?"
"They finally shared with me what he is doing, at least, told us just to wait and try to maintain things for now." Qixu's words made my heart skip a beat.
"Tell me," my voice was croaky, my throat dry.
Luna made a tough choice in this chapter. A choice that was more than just genocide.
What kind of choice would you have made?
