Just as I was about to make my move, Katheran made a move ahead of me. She gripped my wrist holding the dagger with her cold hand, and her low, warning voice rang in my ear, "I wouldn't do such a stupid thing if I were you!"
I looked at her coldly, the dagger's hilt hot and sweaty in my hand. As I hesitated about taking Katheran hostage, Katheran put her lips to my ear.
"You've ruined everything! I can rip your throat out before you do it! But I'll allow you to make a request before you die. What do you want?"
Katheran's words cut into my heart like a sharp knife, and I tried to keep my composure. Even though I knew that the chance to save Ian was slim, I firmly said it.
