บท 8: Meeting the pack part 1

She opens the door of the room she was in to revile a beautifully elegant house. She slowly walked down the stairs, taking in the scenery of this magnificent house. She had never been in such a beautiful place before, as her family had a lot of financial struggles growing up.

When she reached the bottom of the staircase, she was immediately greeted by an excited Seth who led her to the living room of his large house. When they entered the living room she saw Michel, a very beautiful woman she had black straight hair and brown eyes, next to her sat a young blond man with light green eyes he had a lean build. Angelica walked in first then she felt Seth's hand on her back guiding her towards the unfamiliar people.

"Let me introduce you this is my mother, Amber Thompson," Seth said and the woman got up and cupped the hand Angelica held out in both of hers she had a bright and warm smile on her face. "I'm so glad to finally meet you, Angelica dear. Seth has told me so much about you! You can call me Amber or mom." Amber

Angelica was dumbfounded at how bright and energetic the woman in front of her is. "Nice to meet you too, Amber," Angelic replied. "OK, mom. That's enough." Seth said to his mother and continued looking at the blond man standing next to Michel. With a small nod as a signal, Michel and the blond approached. His head was about where Michel's underarm is in length. He looked so tiny next to Michel which made her look up at Seth next to her reminding her just how small she was compared with him.

"This is Even, he is Michel's mate. He will help you get accustomed to things here when I or mom can't." Seth said and Angelica's eyes snapped from Michel to Even next to him then back to Michel.

"Your mates? That would mean…" Angelica said astonished and Even replied with a mischievous grin "That we're gay…". Angelica realized what she just said, and her cheeks turned red in embracement. "I didn't mean it that way it just…" Angelica said trailing off "No worries, Luna, I get it most people don't peg us as a couple." Even said.

"Yeah, I mean he looks so uptight, and you are so easygoing," Angelic said in a playful tone going a log with Even's mischievous and playful nature as to dispel the Awkward tension in the room. "Well, you know what they say, opposites attract." Even said this holding the book in his hand up to the corner of his mouth and giving a playful smile…

"No way that's my favorite book!" Angelica exclaimed in excitement "No, way mine too…" Even replied and his eyes seem to light up. They both had a great passion for books and reading which gave them something to bond over.

"What just happened?" Seth said to Michel looking a little confused at Even and his mate hitting it off better than they did. He originally thought they would have a difficult time getting along but that didn't seem to be the case. "It seems like they are going to be besties. Just a matter of time before they start gossiping about us…" Michel replied.

"That won't really happen, right?" Seth said clearly not happy with the idea. "You better believe it, honey" Amber his mother said from behind him. She had been so quiet up till now he had almost forgotten she was even there.

Later when they all left and it was just Seth and Angelica, they could talk and get to know each other better. "I hope you don't mind me asking, but how come I didn't meet your father today?" Angelica asked as she sat across for Seth at the kitchen table. He had made them breakfast as there was too much commotion earlier to do so.

A pone hearing Angelica's question he instantly tensed up and his expression became ridged. Noticing the drastic change in Seth Angelica quickly added "You don't have to answer if you don't want to.". Seeing the sorrow and regretful expression on his mate's face painful his heart, although it was a sensitive subject for him to talk about, she had to know.

"My father passed away almost 10 years ago. A car accident, although I doubt it was an accident." Seth said with deep sorrow in his voice that could be seen in his eyes as well and this time Angelica felt her heart pain.

"I'm so sorry. I can't imagine what you and your mother must have gone through after that. I never knew my father." Angelica said in her quiet way of speaking trying to comfort him. She got up from her seat, walked over to him, and gave him a hug, she could see he needed one. In an instant his arms wrapped around her waist and pulled her in even closer. She rested her head on his shoulder and at that moment everything seemed perfect.

That was until she remembers that she had been kidnapped, threatened, and rescued by Seth who is a werewolf. Dragged into this supernatural world against her will, learned Seth can read her mind, he also had her investigated, and OFCOUSE the cherry on the cake to all this she was his "mate" and had basically no choice in the matter unless she wanted to basically become a murder.

His words from earlier that morning rang in her ear, like pouring gasoline on a fire, "I'll die without you". That phrase kept repeating in her head over and over till she couldn't take it anymore.

Seth felt her anger, frustration, and feeling of helplessness grow, along with the thoughts of the words he had spoken earlier. She was going to explode any minute and then she did. She ripped herself from his arms screamed and started pounding her fists against his chest in frustration.

He knew nothing he could say would make any of this better, so he just let her let out her frustration. After a few moments, she broke out in tears. This normally calm and collected woman had reached her breaking point.

He comforted her and when she calmed down, he said "Do you want to meet the pack? They are excited to meet their Luna. I have some stuff to take care of in the village, but it's your choice I'll understand if you just want to stay here today."

"I want to go home," Angelica said "I'm sorry but I can't allow that, for your safety please understand that. They will come after you again, I can protect you best when we're here together." Seth said in an unwavering tone.

She had gone through a lot last night she knew what he said was true, and frankly, she didn't want to separate from him.

"I'll go with you" Angelica.
