บท 91: Mixed Feelings.

"Alex? Are you okay? Why didn't you come back home on time?" Sophia asked as she approached where he was seated.

"He had business to attend to," Vanessa explained before Alex could speak.

"When did you get back?" Sophia asked Alex, and then turned to Vanessa, "Why didn't you wake me?" She asked with a displeased frown.

"I got back really late. There was no need to disturb your sleep. I'm sorry for making you worry. Next time I'll call to let you know I'll be late," Alex promised, and Sophia gave him a nod.

"I missed you. Dinner was not fun without you," Sophia complained with a pout as she took the seat next to him before looking down at the plate in front of him.

"Are these what I think they are?" She asked, glancing away from Alex's place to look at Vanessa before looking at the cookies, and Vanessa grinned as she bobbed her head.
