The sound of the door squeaking startled Yasmin, and she turned around in an instant. The purse slipped from her hand as she saw Declan coming in. Her face turned pale as she worried that he had overheard her talking on the phone.

Declan closed the door behind him, his eyebrows knitting. "I thought you were sleeping." He walked over to her. "Are you looking for something?"

Yasmin let out a small sigh as she realized he hadn't heard anything. She, however, struggled to answer him and looked down at her purse.

Declan followed her gaze and saw the purse. He bent down and picked it up.

"Thank you." She snatched the purse from him in an instant. She shivered as she noticed his skeptical look. "I thought… I left my ID card at Derrek's office," she quickly came up with an idea. "It is here only." She put the purse in the cupboard and closed it. She forced a smile when she faced him.
